To learn and grow, children require a tapestry of love, safety, and challenge. When the challenges youth face exceed the amount of resources available, therapy can be helpful. Private, goal oriented, engaging and fun activities can motivate youth to participate in a process they might otherwise avoid. In my practice, I help children address anger, depression, trauma, school related difficulties, divorce, and adjustment issues. With over 20 years of clinical expertise, I understand that children's therapy is most effective when the process is safe and interesting. In my practice I help youth and families embrace needed change by using their strengths to solve problems.
My whole child approach incorporates lifestyle interventions (health, safety, education, and support) into a broad assessment of the well being and challenges of the person. I address difficult to treat sexual behavior problems in children and teens. I help families overcome the stigma and stress oftentimes associated with these problems.
