Ashley Johnson is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with over 5 years of experience in the mental health field. Ashley is passionate about helping individuals, families, and couples develop effective coping skills to successfully navigate relational challenges. She specializes in depression, relationships, domestic abuse, coping skills, family conflict, and women's issues. Ashley leverages her professional knowledge to empower, educate, and inspire individuals, families, and couples to become the best version of themselves.

As a professional counselor licensed in 2010 and in private practice since 2015, I enjoy working with clients seeking a healthy balance in their lives. Working as a team, I find that the clients benefit most from collaboration to restore areas in their lives that are disjointed. My approach is practical, down-to-earth, and very nurturing. I provide services to adolescents and adults in individual, groups, couples, or family settings. I also offer anger management, grief counseling, and specialize in mindfulness techniques. My professional experience has also afforded me the opportunity to reunite families through the Department of Family Protective Services.

Our agency serves clients from 4 y/o to elderly, and every issue except active substance abuse and active psychosis. Upon 30 days sobriety or 30 days stabilization on psychotropic medications, IA can see these clients as well. IA clients include these cultural specialties: 1) Spanish-speaking, 2) Clients seeking Christian-based services on request and definition of what this means to them, 3) Children in play therapy, and 4) the elderly.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who holds a Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Houston and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. I am supervised by Rebecca Smith, LPC - Supervisor in Montgomery County. I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, and various other modalities to customize a treatment plan for each client.

I consider my therapeutic approach eclectic, incorporating many empirically supported schools of thought into my therapeutic relationships. I believe in offering flexibility and balance to an individual’s needs and allow my clients to guide my intuition in how to best support their personal healing journey. I offer include individual therapy for adolescents and adults, marriage/couple’s therapy, family therapy, parent coaching and advocacy support, educational in-service hours (CPEs), and other public speaking engagements.
