I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in Texas. I received my Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have clinical experience in counseling children, adolescents, and adults with issues that include anxiety and depression, grief, behavioral issues, self-harm, multicultural issues, trauma, life transitions, domestic violence and abuse, and family/relationship conflicts. I am trained in TF-CBT and an LGBTQIA+ friendly counselor. Additionally, I utilize play/activity therapy for kiddos who are in need of services.

I have been in practice 16-years and have opened my service area thanks to Google Meet & Facetime. I became a therapist (I have a dual degree in both individual & family therapy) after beginning my own work over 2 decades ago. I see therapy as a tool, a valuable asset that helps us to pull from our history and present the things that work so our future can be everything we want.

We all get "stuck" from time to time. Using client centered counseling, I begin in"the here and now". Solution based therapy is also an integral part of the experience. The client guides while I serve as the agent in the helping process. I offer tools to get you "unstuck". Life is full of conflicts. I formerly worked at Sante Center for Healing as an Outpatient Therapist and am now in private practice. I I have my Masters Degree from TWU in Community Counseling. I am a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key, accepted to Who's Who in College Students 2013, a member of Alpha Rho and TCA.

I believe that people show their greatest strength and resiliency if they have an outlet for their emotions and a empathetic guide for how to navigate goals, struggles, triumphs and stress. I practice from a holistic approach that aims to help a client identify and utilize their greatest strengths to achieve wholeness and wellness. I have extensive experience working with victims of crime as an advocate and trauma informed therapist. I love working with children and youth (ages 6-18). Additionally I work with adults who are first responders or medical personnel struggling with work related traumatic stress.

My role as a counselor is to advocate and provide support for clients who are seeking growth, change, and well-being in their lives. Clinicians accept health insurance, some clinicians offer therapy services on a sliding scale. Additionally, we offer short-term FREE family therapy for qualifying families. My passion is to help children express themselves through play, a child's natural way of communicating. To give children the tools to process and understand their world and what they have experienced in a way that cognitively and verbally they may not have the ability to do just yet.

Dr. McGill has his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and is a Licensed MFT in Texas and California. Dr. McGill holds a certification in Alcohol and Drug Studies from UCLA, and is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Dr. McGill directed a residential treatment program for people challenged with sexual compulsivity, relationship addiction and sexual trauma. Dr. McGill also respectfully supports the integration of spirituality into the clinical treatment process.
