I do individual counseling as well as marriage and family counseling. I focus on communication skills, coping with stress and anxiety, trauma, and healing past hurts. My perspective and approach is Christian but I work very well with clients who are not religious or who are exploring their relationship with God.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have experience and training for working with families, couples and individuals. I work from a systemic perspective putting emphasis on the relational workings as they relate to any presenting problems such as Alcoholism, Addiction/Family of Addiction, Infidelity, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Difficulties, and many other of life's struggles.

As a therapist, I specialize in working with young adults and couples who are navigating sexual health, life transitions, anxiety, family dynamics, and relationships. I take a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Existential approach that also weaves in a focus on client strengths and narratives. I tend to have a more direct approach with my clients, while also adding in humor and a space that allows for support and strength. I am an avid ally of the LGTBQIA+ community and am able to create an environment that empowers and upholds clients as who they are.

I work from a client-centered theoretical approach and practice from a post-modern and philosophically informed lens. My clinical interests include: artistic expression, mindfulness, sexual and gender identity exploration, sex positive approaches, existential questioning, trauma recovery, couples therapy, harm reduction, religious trauma, and body image. I work with individuals and couples. I have also offered groups centering on consent, sexuality, and relationships in local high schools and I have facilitated workshops on music therapy and media literacy.

Arlette has dedicated her life to helping others and provides clients with an open space to be heard. Arlette has spent over 12 years in educational and non-profit settings, and now 8 years in private practice. Other notable experiences in her repertoire include leading grief groups, domestic violence groups, substance abuse treatment, and psychoeducation groups for adult probation. Arlette has advocated for her profession in state/local associations, and as President, wrote the bylaws for her local chapter. Arlette strives to expand her knowledge in the field, utilizing only evidence-based practices in psychotherapy.
