I have experience working with clients experiencing depressive symptoms, anxiety and stress, ADHD, family conflict, trauma, and sleep disturbances.
As humans, we develop physically, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally throughout our lives. During our life our development becomes tested by typical and/or atypical challenges. How we respond to these challenges impacts our continued growth. I love working with people across the lifespan addressing these challenges during which learning, growth, and empowerment stem. I have a particular interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults in their process of ‘becoming’.

Utilizing a blend of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Brainspotting, I work with individual clients ages 13+, as well as couples.
Life does the best it can to squeeze out every ounce of resilience we have in us. What do you do when you’ve come to the end of yourself? We aren’t wired to face the hurt, fear, and loneliness of life alone.

I specialize in treating eating disorders/disordered eating, anxiety, depression, trauma, fertility and postpartum issues and relationship issues - including couples and family therapy.
There are many reasons why we enter therapy. Sometimes we are in need of healing from immense hurt. Sometimes, we are at a crossroad in our lives where we know we need to change direction. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I want you to know that I approach therapy humbly; knowing that while the hard work of change is up to you, I am fully committed to bringing respect, hopefulness and the best of my knowledge to our work together. I believe there is great power in self-awareness, authenticity and acceptance. They give us the courage to take the next step toward more fulfilling and happier lives.

My areas of special clinical interest include anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, perfectionism, family conflict, parenting issues.
Life is hard and it throws us one curve ball after the other. There is no need to go through it alone. Now is the time to focus on mending your heart from past and/or present wounds. If you've experienced triggers that are affecting your family, we can work through it. If your child is experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, behavioral issues, or lacks coping skills, we can work through it.

Are you neurodivergent, Autistic, or suspect it? Do you have an autistic family member? Neurodivergence can manifest quite differently in people which can create unique challenges. However, I do find a common complaint. They often feel overwhelmed and anxious. They may believe they are not good enough and are frustrated with their adult life path. Many have experienced some form of trauma, which only adds to the struggle. Family members are often unsure how to support their loved one in adulthood. They want to feel happy, content, connected, and proud.

I use an Internal Family Systems framework to help my clients find compassion for all parts of themselves and embody their values.
Clients often come to me because they have relational goals or challenges that have them feeling stuck and overwhelmed. Whether navigating the complexities of non-monogamy, figuring out relationships in the context of your sexual or gender identity, struggling with communication and conflict, working through relational traumas, or trying to achieve more sexual fulfillment, you deserve a therapist who is competent and respectful and who will partner with you in your work to be a happier human. That is my goal.

Do you struggle with sex getting more daily attention than your closest relationships? Maybe a previous infidelity or betrayal continues to plague the relationship? Many of my clients struggle to make sense of emotions, but long to feel safe and connected to friends and family. Despite our best protective strategies, emotional experiences will not be ignored. Over a lifespan, adaptive protective strategies of the past become our prisons. Mal-adaptive in the present, old and helpful strategies of the past form the barriers to trusting safe and connected relationships we all desperately desire.

We all bear wounds of some kind. Everyone has a unique life story to share. I became a therapist to listen to others’ stories of pain, and work with them to find light in their darkness. For 15 years, I have worked with individuals and families that have suffered from wounds inflicted by others, as well as emotional harm that may be self inflicted. Trauma and dysfunctional family patterns, or damaging thoughts- such as shame, anxiety, and self-defeat- may serve as examples of these wounds. The weight of unresolved emotional and mental pain can be both limiting and exhausting. But there is hope, and these wounds can be mended.

Almost all of my work includes stepping into exploring our family of origin and developmental experiences to better understand how we came to be, believe what we do, and experience the world and others today.
I love helping young women and couples find wholeness in relationship with themselves, others, and God. Whether you are someone(s) overcoming trauma or family of origin issues, discerning your own belief system, striving to create a life of alignment, strengthening the intertwining of two unique lives before or after marriage, navigating sexual intimacy struggles, or simply going through a big life adjustment and need a safe space to process, I so look forward to meeting you and joining in on the adventure.

I work with depression, anxiety, adult ADHD (diagnosed and undiagnosed) as well as family therapy, couples therapy, and divorce therapy with individual men and women, couples, and blended families.
My practice is built on listening compassionately, not being judgemental but empowering, and helping my clients develop the confidence to actively participate in their relationships. I do this through understanding their issues, their attachment style, and any diagnosed or undiagnosed disorders. We will work on setting boundaries, trauma response/reaction, and recognizing and verbalizing needs.

My clients have complicated family relationships, which often include addiction, boundary conflicts, or a lack of emotional understanding. They tend to be anxious overthinkers, striving to break intergenerational cycles, but they struggle to connect with themselves on a deeper level. Our work together will focus on increasing your emotional understanding, identifying the patterns that are keeping you from living the life you desire, and moving into a space of self-acceptance.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
