When transitioning through different phases in your life such as a new job, relocating, parenting, divorce, aging, loss, or retirement you may experience some significant challenges. Any of these situations in life may bring you to seek someone to help you gain perspective and coping skills for navigating through.

With 18 years experience, I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples on many different barriers to fulfilling their own potential. My desire is to meet each individual where they are to work towards gaining control over any personal challenges they are experiencing. I pull from many different psychotherapy theories to meet many unique needs and my specialties are diverse.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, I provide confidential and therapeutic services for individuals, couples, and families struggling with life's ups and downs. Creating a safe environment for clients to express their feelings, needs, wants, and ideas for change is vital for transitioning into a new and desired state.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher with a certification in Trauma-Focused CBT, I am passionate about combining traditional therapy theories/techniques with experiential and holistic methods such as meditation, mindfulness and mind-body awareness to better serve client's or family's needs (upon request). I have 15 + years of experience from outpatient- and in home settings, private practice, foster care-systems, juvenile justice/court and am also familiar with working with military families.

We like to consider ourselves play connoisseurs! Dr. Megan (owner) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist, and Kayla is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Both Dr. Megan and Kayla have advanced training in different play therapy modalities and truly specialize in working with children. They believe in empowering children to make their own choices, take responsibility, and assert their autonomy by engaging in an accepting, safe, and trusting therapeutic relationship. Our office is designed for kids with adults in mind! :)

More and more people in today's world and changing culture are feeling lost, isolated, hopeless and overwhelmed with emotions that seem to come from nowhere. My work focuses on helping people understand themselves, get unstuck, find hope and move forward with new found skills and perspectives. I combine the practicality of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with the depth of psychodynamic therapy to provide individuals and couples a safe, supportive space in which to understand the unhealthy patterns in their lives and explore new ways of thinking, feeling, and engaging with the world.

I have endured the restless nights of stress with many factors that affect the ability to balance life and self-care. Ask about video sessions. With the current evolving nature of COVID-19, we are now offering telemental health (TMH) sessions for all clients. It is an effective means of meeting your mental health needs when a trip to the office is not possible. ALSO OFFERING TELE-PLAY THERAPY- The premise of play therapy is to meet children where they are and to speak their language. Technology is the modern facilitator of that language. Ultimately, while the work is slightly modified virtually, the therapeutic effects of having a space to process all that is presently occurring for them is invaluable. We're here to help!

Thus, your active participation and personal and personal work outside of session are essential for counseling to be effective. I may ask you to try various things outside of the counseling hour to help you reach your goal.
