I provide individual, couples, and family therapy.
I believe in the healing power of relationships. Humans are relational creatures with a wired need to feel accepted. Disconnection in relationships can leave a person feeling hopeless. You can expect me to help you through relational healing. Together, we will look at your relationship to self and how this impacts how you navigate relationships with others. As a systems thinker, I often help clients explore ways to strengthen their sense of belongingness through strengthening relationships with others.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, tennis, and sipping lattes with family & friends.
Life can often get in the way of us taking care of ourselves and providing the space for us to grow and thrive. Stress, trauma, and difficult experiences often interrupt our emotional well-being and create emotional distress. Everyone deserves the opportunity to find their true self to experience joy. Hence, it's my passion to come alongside kids, teens, and adults, and support them in the journey toward health and happiness.

You seem to have it all: career success, a beautiful home, and a seemingly perfect relationship. But beneath this facade lies pain. You've learned to mask your struggles, turning life's lemons into lemonade. Yet, this facade comes at a cost—you've sacrificed feeling and true living. Life feels like a monotonous routine; you're merely going through motions. Hidden beneath it all lies a lack of career purpose, overwhelming family obligations, and a fading spark in your relationships. You're mourning your former self, resenting the shell you've become.

Whether you need therapeutic support for your child, answers, or are simply looking for strategies to help your family navigate a new life stage, you will leave our time together with a better understanding of what your child’s behavior is really communicating and have a tailored action plan to support your family’s needs.
Does your child have trouble focusing or performing in school? Are you looking for parent strategies to better support your child’s needs? Are you concerned with your child's mental health or development? As a parent/caregiver, your natural instinct is to provide support for your child, although knowing the "what" or "how" is not always clear. All behavior communicates something. Whether it is a skill deficit, learned pattern, or underlying symptom, determining what lies behind the behavior is the first step to supporting it. You bring the experience as the parent and together we will determine the "what," "why," and "how."

My ideal client's life may currently feel stressful, in crisis or transition. You may be a survivor of a dysfunctional upbringing and have a strong desire to do better than the examples you were given. You may even find yourself saying: "I know there is more to life than this". You have recognized the need for change but have been unable to break free from cycles of defeat. My joy is empowering young adults and adults to live the life they desire by holding space with them as they journey towards change and redeeming family legacy.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
