As a mindfulness-based practitioner specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, family-related stress and couples' conflict, my goal is to offer the quality of service that I would seek as a client. I use counseling practices that are based in research. However, I also move flexibly between approaches depending upon the unique needs of my clients. Your goals are the most important element of change, and I see counseling as an active and collaborative relationship in this process. I offer a warm, relaxed and open environment but am also engaged, interactive and conversational in style.

Waitlist for new clients
I use different treatment modalities to treat symptoms that are triggered by any number of life stressors: family conflicts, relationship concerns, medical conditions, work related stress, acculturation difficulties, existential angst.
I won't know on day one what method of treatment works best for you, because people reveal themselves over time, and at their own pace. My holistic, culturally sensitive approach is rooted in respect, truth and compassion. I respect the unique way in which you show up in the world. I believe there is power in discovering your truth, and I will always show you compassion. I incorporate my knowledge of the human body that I gained through professional experience in the fitness/yoga industry to help you better understand the connection between the mind, the body and the spirit.

I wanted to get into the mental health field from a young age, as I was always surrounded by friends and family who struggled with mental health.
I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

Your life is a constant juggle, a never-ending to-do list. College, work, family, & unexpected life shifts—your plate is full to the brim. Sometimes, it feels like you're drowning in responsibilities. The weight of it all can be suffocating, leaving you utterly exhausted. You've become a master at putting others' needs first, but who's taking care of you? You keep telling yourself, "It'll be okay," while pushing down the mounting pressure, but deep inside, you're struggling. You wear a brave face but you long for a moment to pause, to be heard, to acknowledge that it's okay to not be okay.

During my time in this field, I have worked with clients working through a variety of mental health and life challenges, including but not limited to, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, suicidality, self injurious behaviors, eating disorders, personality disorders, divorce/relationship trouble, changes in family dynamics, and executive dysfunction.
My ideal client is someone who is willing to work with me and engage with me effectively. This includes open lines of communication and utilizing therapy times efficiently. I don't believe that progress can be rushed and have no interest in "fixing" anyone. However, I am always honest in my assessments, thoughts, and opinions with clients, and my hope is that my client will do the same. My ideal client is a client who is eager to talk and is open to feedback. My ideal client is also someone who is willing to work through set backs or challenges, together as a team.

I would work with the client through talk therapy to identify family relationships/family dynamics and provide empathy to explore and process what they believe are healthy attachments and relationships and why.
The ideal client would finally be open to change and hope to have better interpersonal relationships. This can be a client who struggles with their anxiety, possibly has poor attachment styles, and struggles with holding meaningful relationships (romantic, platonic, familial). Their goals would be identifying healthy boundaries and healthy responses, increasing effective communication skills, and identifying past relationships/present relationships in order to identify patterns/habits.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
