I work with survivors of emotional & physical trauma (18+). Many of my clients find themselves playing by the survival rules of that life changing experience to keep themselves safe. Unfortunately, those rules become part of the problem when that event has passed. When this happens, they find themselves feeling alone, having relationships that are triggering, and often think, “Why does this keep happening?" They need help identifying their unhealthy thought/behavior patterns to create new rules to live by. Instead of living a life through the lens of hurt and fear they want to live one through love and connection.

Life presents us with challenges, but each challenge is an opportunity to gather new tools for growth. Sometimes we all need a little extra support to navigate what comes our way. I support children and adults through big life changes, academic and professional struggles, relationship building, emotional expression, and motivation enhancement.

I am a nationally certified counselor and a licensed professional counselor with 15 years of experience counseling individuals of all ages. My experience includes, but is not limited to: depression, anxiety, family conflict, trauma, addiction and working with expecting and new mothers. I also have experience and specific training in working with infertility and loss in pregnancy. I enjoy focusing on and implementing self compassion in my clients' lives. Together we will build a treatment plan and implement certain strategies to achieve your goals.

My focus extends to working closely with individual children and adolescents, addressing issues like ADHD, anxiety, and depression with a personalized touch. Acknowledging the interplay of family dynamics, I emphasize the importance of understanding the family system to comprehend the individual better. Life transitions and hurdles can be especially daunting for young individuals, and I provide a compassionate space for them to explore and express their thoughts and emotions. Together, we navigate the complexities of childhood and adolescence, fostering resilience and personal growth.

I am a psychotherapist with over 40 years of experience in providing individual, marital, family and group psychotherapy. As our wounding and losses occur through relationships so I believe our healing and growth take place in the crucible of human relationships. In the therapy relationship I provide a safe, welcoming and accepting environment where individuals, couples and famlies can find healing and creative, imaginative approaches to life's dilemmas and mysteries. I have extensive experience in group facilitation and community building. My specialized training and experience includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD).

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor in New Orleans, Louisiana. I received my Masters degree in Counseling from The University of New Orleans and have been practicing throughout the greater New Orleans region for nearly a decade. I provide a broad range of counseling services to individuals, children, adolescents, and adults. I also offer group services for children. My experience and passion is rooted in working with children and their families. Raising a child in these uneasy times can be frustrating, confusing, and scary, and it’s okay that you’re feeling like you could use some support. As a counselor and “feelings expert,” I create a safe space for your child to explore emotions. I use play, art and activity-based approaches to help your child talk and play through their uncomfortable feelings. I love to sit on the floor, draw, build and have fun with children to help them open up to me. For your older children, I use activity-based therapy and talk therapy in session.

My approach to therapy is psychodynamic. I view the therapuetic process as a collaborative and empathic relationship of communication, exploration, reflection and insight. I believe it is the therapuetic relationship itself that is most important in creating the conditions for the deep exploratory work of psychotherapy and the possibility of change. The three goals of therapy are understanding, acceptance and change, where one is now, and what one is ready for could differ over time. We work with adults and couples to assist people with choosing solutions that help them improve their relationships by changing their behavior. We help clients look at their situations and problems as opportunities to explore their choices to work toward staying on track by meeting their goals in order to enhance their lives. We aid people in finding solutions for their problems instead of focusing only on the problem. This is a clinical outpatient setting and we help clients address all disorders listed in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, 5th Edition - Text Revision (DSM-5-TR).
