I enjoy working with adolescents, teens, and young adults experiencing a variety of concerns such as eating disorders, body image and self-esteem issues, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and family issues. My goal is to provide a safe environment for you to explore your inner strength and work toward freedom in every aspect of life. I strive to help you feel confident that you're moving in the right direction.

My perspective is that life is complicated and it's easy to get lost along the way as we face our own struggles like fear, insecurity, shame and worry. If we keep those struggles in the dark, they'll only take root and trip us up and make us start to forget truth. It's only by bringing those dark places into the light that those roots can vanish and we can see truth and grow in ways we could never imagine. It's my joy to partner with others through that process and remove the stigma in seeking help.

I work with younger people (10-12), adolescents (13-18), emerging adults (19-29), and older clients. In addition to depression/anxiety, my work with younger people includes divorce, school, peer, and various other behavioral issues; with adolescents: freedom/responsibility, identity formation, emotion regulation, and effective communication; with emerging adults: career counseling, independent living, and addressing unfinished business. I also have a background in high school education. With all clients I meet them where they're at and strive to unlock their greatest potential.

Therapy is a way of connecting with someone who can support you in these difficult times and help you find ways of coping that lead to growth, insight, and understanding. To often when it comes to mental health we feel alone and like there is no one who could possibly understand what we are going through. My mission as your therapist is to help you gain deep insight and cultivate practical tools needed to forge the fulfilling life you desire and deserve. The primary goal of my practice is to create an environment of safety and respect for you to experience connection, heal hurts, develop awareness, and grow personally. I'm a Board Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I also offer Clinical Supervision as the Founder of Atlanta Wellness Collective.

Malakeia Scott -Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 8 + years of experience in social work. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Masters degree in Social Work. Her career began with counseling adolescents and teens with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She has worked as a hospice social worker providing clients and their families with emotional support, resources and navigating end-of-life care. She has also served as a Therapeutic Support Specialist with the Division of Children and Family State Office Unit, serving youth in the child welfare system, and clients adjusting to life on dialysis.

We’re all doing our best to handle the demands of modern life. It can be overwhelming, especially when life throws a curve ball. My passion is helping clients explore their problems in a judgment-free, safe, and supportive environment. I specialize in working with young adults and adults, and it’s my privilege to walk alongside your journey. Together, we examine the feelings that arise from challenging relationships, adverse childhood experiences, social injustices and traumatic events. Life’s transitions and losses may bring these wounds to the surface and create the catalyst for meaningful change.

Growing up in Ghana, there was no such thing as talk therapy. Mental health was not a topic of discussion in my culture. I became fascinated with talk therapy during my college years here in America. Over the years, I have felt the need to bring talk therapy to the fore front of my community and all. My exprience has been working with adults with serious mental illnesses, children with family trauma and abandonments, individuals and families. I specialize in couples and groups as well. My approach is creating a safe space for you to be vulnerable and sincere in your disclosure of deep and personal thoughts. I am an LGBTQ ally.

My ideal client lives in Georgia or South Carolina and needs a mental health evaluation, psychological evaluation, immigration evaluation, brief therapy, or brief life coaching. My client may need an assessment for court due to legal charges, for divorce litigation, or for administrative immigration proceedings. I provide evaluations and life coaching via private pay. For my therapy clients, I accept Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, Oxford insurances. All services are provided via telehealth.

I divide my time between trauma therapy and marriage and family therapy. My practice offers individual therapy, couples counseling, mediation, diagnostic and forensic evaluations, and coparenting services. In individual therapy, I tend to work with clients on improving symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, family issues, and PTSD.

I work with families and children who's lives revolve around the issues of one or more family members struggles with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I have provided group experiences for traumatized and delinquent youth. If I can help, I will help.
