I counsel from an integrated lens of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Family Systems work, and Spiritual Care.
Do you feel stuck in your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors? Are you searching for meaning? Are you face-to-face with anxiety, fear, or depression? Are you grieving the death of a loved one? Do you feel alone in the boat of life? We were not designed to face these deep challenges alone. I strongly believe that when we meet that we will be able to co-create ways for you to find hope, meaning, and a pathway to meet your goals.

This can include difficulty pursuing relationships, coping with existing relationships that are complicated, grief when a relationship ends, family discord, friendship problems, loneliness, and struggle coping with workplace issues.
Saturday appointments Available. Welcome. If you are thinking about trying out counseling, but there is a part of you that is shocked that you would ever think about scheduling a counseling appointment, then you will fit right in with the work that I do. Even though I love all things that are self-help focused, I can understand how that initial appointment to speak with a counselor about those concerns can seem scary and just not something you ever thought you would do. My favorite part of therapy is when there is that moment that people realize that counseling is not actually scary and that they actually like it.

My approach is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Imago Relationship Theory, and Attachment Theory.
If life has dealt you and/or your relationship some difficult circumstances and you've survived but walked away with wounds that aren't healing the way you'd like, therapy is a great option for you. If the thought of healing, feeling whole and at peace within yourself and in your relationships, leaves you with a lump in your throat or a mixture of hope and doubt, it might be time to look for an advocate to walk alongside you as you revisit your history to make a way for a better future. When you realize that you want more for yourself and your relationships, call me, and let's do this it together.

Like war, trauma from adult and childhood abuse, hurt from church and family have left many of us just limping through life. Just because you are use to the pain, it doesn't mean you or your love ones should continue to live with the pain. I am honest and I like to see results. I also like to work with clients that are ready to be honest and put in the work to see their desired results. I primarily see adult women with trauma and couples in need of support! My office has clinicians that see individuals of all ages! I am also a Qualified Supervisor that is passionate about supporting Registered Interns on their licensing journey!

I have a background working with an array of people who have experienced anxiety, depression, pain management issues, addiction issues, relationship/family issues, and job related/career issues.
Are you looking for a counselor who is caring and has over 10 years in the mental health field? I know it is hard to find the right fit sometimes and it is very important that you connect with your clinician. I find it very important to understand my client as much as possible in our first session so I know exactly how to help them on their therapeutic journey. I help my clients by being compassionate, a good listener and giving them psychological techniques that rewire the brain in order for them to have healthier lives.

Sometimes it just takes one conversation to start recognizing unhealthy patterns that are holding us back from achieving our goals. Once we get to the root causes of our discontent, we can begin the real work to create positive change. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, dysfunctional family patterns, marital stressors, or welcoming a new child- you are resilient and capable of creating the life you want. Contentment is possible if we are open to doing the work. Unfortunately, many of us lack the necessary support we need to be successful in this process.

My family and I have finally planted our roots in Pensacola, Florida, where I am building up my private practice for in-person and telehealth services.
Stressed? Anxious? Generally feeling overwhelmed with emotions, and need someone to talk to? Let's figure it out together! As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I put a lot of focus into trauma healing, utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This method can be used for many different issues, as well as processing any early trauma, this is often present when we can’t quite figure out why our mind and body are always on high alert. Our bodies do really well in telling us what we need to work through. I can help you become more attuned to your needs.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
