I know finding the right fit for a therapist can be a bit like shopping for a sofa: try a bunch before finding the one that makes you want to rest and stay a while. I’ll offer a few details that might make this process feel a little more directive. I am a licensed professional counselor and a marriage and family therapist candidate. My work is relational at its core, whether I am working with individuals, or larger units. Those who seem to get the most out of working with me are in touch with their internal emotional landscapes and interested in being active participants in their healing.

However, you can attend therapy individually, with partner(s), or family.
Finding an affirming therapist can be a difficult & complex process. For many of us, living as our authentic selves can be challenging. Sometimes there are multiple barriers & difficult decisions ahead. You don’t have to navigate it alone. Together we’ll create a supportive/collaborative space needed to move through any relational challenges, and/or to process difficult experiences. Many clients work with me because they prefer working with a therapist who has first-hand knowledge of trans/queer identities & others work with me because of my 15+ years of experience working systemically with individuals, couples, and families.

I provide an eclectic somatic approach based in mindfulness, gestalt, sensorimotor, and internal family systems.
Are anxiety, depression, and trauma creating roadblocks in your life? Does it feel like there is a disconnect between you and the world around you? It is normal for the trauma stored in your body to create barriers to connection. Unfortunately, these barriers can be incredibly painful and difficult to cope with. You may be experiencing cycles of painful thoughts, days of numbness, or outbursts of anger.

In our sessions, I’ll help you work on feeling more present in the moment, finding stability and escape in a toxic relationship or family situation, to be more in control of your anxiety and communication, and to stop putting others needs before your own with better boundaries.
I want to help bring authenticity and change to your life the way you want it to. I'm Nick (they/them), and I’m dual licensed in two states working with FL and CO clients. Whether seeking individual, relational, or family therapy, I believe we are all multi-storied beings and that everyone is the expert of their own story and experience. Along the way, we collect stories-stories that others tell about us, stories we tell about ourselves, the story we tell about the problem, and stories we inherit from dominant knowledge or culture. These narratives shape our perception of ourselves and others and can influence relational connection which often contributes to why one might seek out therapy.

Hi there! I operate strongly with the belief that kindness and care for others goes a long way. I enjoy connecting with and helping others regardless of our differences. I am passionate about working with kids and with family preservation. I hope to be an advocate for a child when they may not otherwise have one. I aim to help families connect and better understand one another to create a more cohesive home environment. As an artist, I am especially passionate about using art as healing. Art can create a strong container for difficult emotions, and I believe you don’t have to be an artist to benefit from the power of art making!

If you feel you mutually share *unfinished business* with your spouse or have difficulties in your family and interpersonal relationships, if you are experiencing anxiety in your body and worrying excessively, if you are depressed or have been abusing a variety of substances or on psych meds, please give me a call and go with your gut guided by reason.
I invite you to pause with me in this present space (intentionally) and take 2 deep and slow breaths from the abdomen (Back straight). What are you noticing in your body? What are these sensations (Dreams, Archetypes , Omens, Images, pain, fear, sadness etc.)? Where is it located in your body presently? Yes! the body keeps the score. It is a receptacle of programs in which we are oftentimes unaware we overlook; desensitized to its non -verbal wisdom. In fact, we generally weren't taught to slow down and pay attention to it during those crucial moments in our lives in which our self image and esteem are impacted..

I help individuals navigate their life and heal from trauma using trauma-informed interventions like Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and attachment-based tools.
Hi, I’m Lindsay, a queer relationship and trauma therapist. Life's hard sometimes. It's an oversimplified statement, but sometimes simplicity feels good in the midst of chaos and mess. Trying to make sense of family, relationships, medical care, and work environments in a heterosexist world is exhausting. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, haunted by the past, or just unsure of how to show up for your partner or for yourself, then you’re in the right place.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
