I have extensive experience in working with really complex family situations.
What makes therapy work is the relationship/connection between the therapist and client, as well as the skills and technical expertise the therapist brings to the table. I am supportive, caring and committed to being totally present, meeting people where they are right now, hearing them in their own terms. Relationships between individuals, couples and families have become so stressful in these crazy-making times. I see my job as helping clients untangle life's challenges and assisting them in getting in touch with their own inner resources.

I have experience with relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, family dynamics, trauma, grief and loss, parenting, pre/post natal, ADHD, autism, adolescents and children.
Humans are meant to have support through pain, challenges, and life's many transitions. Yet, life can feel frantic and disconnecting. You may find yourself lost in the chaos, feeling alone, depressed, or anxious. It may be difficult to find spaces where you are truly seen, understood, and accepted, let alone able to express your pain, challenges, and dreams. You are not alone in your longing to authentically speak, feel, and process your life.

I love working with couples as well as individuals interested in hike or nature-based therapy. From our very first session you will take home practical tools for both communication and relaxation. In moments of stress, you will have less blaming ways to express what you need to keep things from escalating. For those times when you do lose your cool, you will know more about calming yourself down before saying something you regret. I'll help you learn to be kinder to yourself, to be aware of how you talk to yourself. For starters, don't believe everything you think!

My clients present with mild-severe anxiety/depression, most often caused by trauma, grief/loss, emotional pain from attachment trauma experienced in childhood, due to various family dysfunctions. Most feel isolated, lonely and confused in their struggles, often ashamed that they cannot cope and too fearful to ask for help. Reaching out is a courageous step, and my clients seek to find relief from overwhelming emotions, to tell their story, be heard, seen, validated and understood from their perspective. In our sessions they improve awareness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and coping through insight and renewed clarity.

Pain and grief are universal. How we deal with it and heal sets us apart from each other. Sometimes, we get stuck and can't see how to move. It's like standing in a dark room with a flashlight but no idea where to point it and in what direction to walk. I am here to say you are not alone; together, we can work on bringing the light back to those dark rooms. Raised in Los Angeles I moved to Orange County and attended Hope International University, receiving my Masters In Marriage and Family Therapy. I began working as a therapist with under-resourced families and have had the privilege of working with substance abuse clients

I can help identify a solid plan of action for you and your family to make attainable and measureable improvements.
Healthy relationships are my goal and my mission. I'm especially passionate about working with couples, both premarital and marital. I achieve this best through a program called "Ultimate Integrity." Most of my couples say that a lack of integrity is a major problem in their relationships and this (UI) program can be very helpful to heal the wounds of lies and deceit and replace with truth and love. Many couples also struggle with stress, depression, anxiety, and addictions. I'm very proactive to identify effective strategies and coping skills to resolve these concerns.

Treatment often includes family and couples therapy, weekly communication with outside providers, and locating care at intensive treatment centers.
Welcome, and here’s a bit about my practice! I am client-centered in training so therapy is about you and your goals, not mine. I strive to be honest, to “hold up a mirror" to help people get more clear on who they are and what they truly value. I have found that most benefit specifically from this pairing of therapeutic challenge and caring support. My passion is working with people who process differently, might identify as neurodivergent. This includes medical terms like ADHD, ASD, personality disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, self-injury, bipolar disorders, etc. The goal is self-acceptance and empowerment!

My background in intervention research and personal experiences with mental health struggles in my family have fueled my passion for supporting others.
Do you ever feel like you're drifting apart from yourself and those around you? Are your own needs consistently relegated to the bottom of your never-ending to-do list? Do you often ponder whether life should feel more fulfilling and joyful? In today's turbulent world, it's not uncommon to experience feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and uncertainty, especially when it comes to managing the complexities of relationships, careers, and everyday life. The tendency to neglect self-care and push aside personal needs can result in long-term repercussions for both your mental and physical well-being.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
