I have a special passion for working with the LGBTQ+ community, with couples and with people who struggle with the disease of alcoholism and their friends and family members.
I truly look forward to meeting you. I feel excited every time I meet with a new client. It is the beginning of a journey we take together. It is an interpersonal and strengths based relationship in which it is safe for you to discover your fullest potential. I am kind and caring but wil also encourage you to look more deeply into your blind spots. I believe in respect, kindness and humor. I treat my clients as human beings, not as a diagnosis. I especially enjoy working with individuals feeling that something from their past is holding them back. And with couples who are feeling stuck. I love helping clients to find true happiness.

My approach to therapy is holistic - I take into account your culture, family history, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, etc - and tailor treatments to your individual needs.
If you are a person of color (POC), in the LGBTQ community, and/or are non-monogamous/poly, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations for over 15 years. In working with a culturally competent therapist like me, you can focus on what brought you to therapy in the first place and not on explaining or “teaching” the nuances of your culture and sexuality. My expertise is in helping those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I’m trained in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that treats trauma and other difficulties.

People are my passion and I feel blessed to have found my calling. My background includes being a pastor's grandchild and having a military family, I have been a wife, and also a teacher. I am still a mother and a grandmother which all have led me to become a therapist. I began working in group homes, foster families, juvenile probation, private practice, schools, and the county jail. I have loved my jobs and feel blessed that, "I Get to go to work, I don't Have to go to work."

Meaning, I have been trained to help you face and explore things such as why intimacy is scary, your family drives you to drink, or why you can't say no to people.
Many of the ways we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us are highly influenced by the relational and emotional climate we grew up in. I believe that gaining insight into these dynamics and how they operate in conscious and unconscious ways in our personal lives puts us in a position to make mindful and intentional choices that lead to flourishing and a rich experience of life.

He has experience ranging from family therapy to working closely with patients' creativity to treating the seriously mentally ill.
I believe that we all face friction in our relationships and day-to-day living. Consistently encountering the same types of issues, however, can be the result of blind spots that blur our view of reality. Psychotherapy exists, in part, to help identify these areas of hazy perception and to resolve them over time. And with improved clarity come choices that are more plentiful, more attainable, and more likely to result in an improved appreciation of everything around us -including ourselves. This process can only happen in a safe, non-threatening environment.

My training includes Hollygrove, a community-based mental and behavioral treatment program, Regional Center of Orange County, as well as Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Long Beach.
It takes courage to ask for help. If you're browsing through this site, you're probably wondering how you can make things better for yourself. That's a great first step. And you already took it. Life can be very challenging, and at times unbearable. As a Clinical Therapist, I want to help you find and develop life-enhancing qualities that you need in order to live the kind of life that you envision for yourself.

My work is informed by transpersonal and psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems.
I approach psychotherapy from a whole-person perspective and I believe therapy, along with other practices, can help us awaken to a life of meaning. In therapy I will help you identify the source of your longing to be whole, and together, we will move closer to that source, so you become re-sourced. Together we will explore your innate natural cycles and help you align to your own rhythm, so that you might meet depletion with rest and energy with creativity.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
