My focus in therapy revolves around relationships and support. The most important relationship I speak of is our relationship with ourselves. To be truly whole we benefit from a well developed relationship with ourselves to then be able to have good relationships with others. This comes from learning and honoring our strengths and our limitations. In fact, one's limitations can grow into strengths when addressed from a position of self-care
My philosophy is based on our relationship. I attempt to bring a sense of acceptance to clients about their problems or concerns to move in the direction they would like to go. My approach is by use of empathy, strengths assessment, and supportive coaching, influenced by Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Family Systems Theories.
I use humor and rapport to open doors toward acceptance and behavioral change within the clients I serve. I also offer out of the box approaches to therapy by offering home visits, video sessions, and behavioral coaching. It is true that not all problems can be solved but acceptance can ease the burden.
