Welcome to my practice! For over ten years I have worked as a licensed counselor, with experience in addictions, family violence, at-risk adolescents, and working with the HIV/AIDS population. I have specific training in Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational Emotive Behavioral, and Solution-Focused Brief therapies. These therapies have been shown through research to be effective in treating depression, anxiety, addictions, and other mental health diagnoses. I also like to incorporate relaxation, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques, and art therapy techniques in my work with clients.

It takes strength and courage to accept when one can't handle parts of life, and so, I commend you. As a therapist, I accompany clients exactly where they are while offering unconditional acceptance and respect without judgement to build a safe and inviting counseling environment. Each client brings a set of unique morals, values, beliefs, and strengths which makes each person who they are. I treat ALL issues from adolescent to elderly within individual, couple, family, or group settings. Many people are hurting and seek help with relationship issues, with their spouse, and other family members; I strive to help restore marriage and family relationships. Common problems that clients bring to me include relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief, past trauma, child behavior problems, addictions, and having problems adjusting to changes in life. I practice spiritually-integrated counseling from a Christian worldview.

I provide therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors and offer individual, family, and couples counseling sessions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge clients' unrealistic beliefs and change their behaviors. In addition, I practice Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to assist individuals in identifying their strengths through growth and self-discovery to aid them in reaching their future goals.

I bring to my clients over 40 years of clinical experience, working with Veterans as the retired Chief of Mental Health at the VA in Lexington, KY and in as a clinician in other military and private practice settings. I am Board Certified in Counseling Psychology (ABPP). I am a retired Army Veteran experienced in working with individuals, couples and families who are having difficulty coping with depression, domestic violence, stress, anger and grief.
