Dominica Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has 5 years of experience working with all different populations, including adults, children/adolescents, and geriatric, while providing individual, family, couples, and group counseling. Dominica has also worked with clients who suffer from drug/alcohol addiction, depression, anxiety, family/relationship issues, anger problems, communication problems, and severe mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), etc. She has helped many people in her field.

I know what it's like being scared to seek help. I know that asking for help can sometimes feel like things are failing and I caused them. I also know how nervous I felt when I looked for assistance and wanting to begin therapy, scared with questions like, will I be judged? Will they keep my confidence? Can I trust them? I knew that when seeking therapy and looking for help all I wanted was for things to be better, get better, live healthier and be accepted. Therapy is scary, it can bring up issues that may be more frightening than you would like to cope with. Therapy is also helpful, healthy and the best part is, you're not alone.

Whether working individually, with a partner or family member, or in a group setting, I collaborate with my clients to explore their experiences and potential skills and abilities for overcoming issues that are interfering with their lives. Examples of these can include grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, abuse, relationship issues, and several others. Together, my clients and I work as a team to achieve success, which provides the opportunity to focus on goal-setting, strengths, morals and values, and motivation to create a more self-satisfying future where issues can be dealt with in a healthy and constructive way.

I fight for my clients and gently challenge them to not give up but instead learn better coping mechanisms so they can get through the difficult times in their lives. This is how I invest in them. I will, however, move at your pace, and if you simply need a space to digest things, we may do so together while you discover more constructive methods to deal with trying circumstances.

Venecia Lynch is Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Texas who has experience collaborating with children, adults, women, and families seeking assistance in dealing with various issues that significantly impacts their daily activities. Venecia is a married, retired veteran of the Air Force, mother of one daughter and two grandchildren. She received two M. A degrees from DBU, in Professional Development and Counseling and an M.Ed. from Prairie View A& M University.

As a therapist, I get excited about the opportunity for change in a person’s life. I take a holistic approach, considering the many factors that affect a client’s mental and emotional state, not just the presenting problem. My background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified teacher and school counselor, as well as working for 16+ years with at-risk individuals, from four years to adult, allows me to treat a wide range of clients.

One of my beliefs is that people cannot truly love, or allow themselves to be loved in return, if we do not first find a way to love ourselves. Fundamentally, we can become wounded because of relationships, which in-turn, adversely affect how we interpret our own meaning and attachment to the world and others. However, as we grow in awareness and care for self, we can begin to heal in relationships just the same. This is accomplished by working through those past wounds which tend to manifest in and become the present behaviors and intentions that harm us and others.
