As a counselor, I work with adults who are navigating change, processing trauma, and building skills to improve their wellness. I can help you or your loved ones go from a place of frustration and sadness to healing and growth. My therapeutic process is person-centered. I recognize that we are all individuals with different needs.

Mackenzie’s goal as a therapist is to provide a space for clients to feel safe, appreciated, seen, heard and honored for the unique individual they are! Additionally, Mackenzie works to incorporate art and creative means into sessions, as art can truly be therapeutic and can further facilitate expression and conversation. She encourages creativity with the hopes of fostering healing, growth, and self discovery.

Life can be incredibly difficult and painful sometimes; full of highs and lows, triumphs and failures. It can be difficult to acknowledge when you need to slow down a little bit and get some help. Counseling is safe and judgement free place where you can process what troubles you and begin to understand your thoughts, feelings, and assumptions about yourself, others, and the world around you.

It takes strength to acknowledge when something is wrong. Through looking for a counselor, you have displayed this. I can imagine by now you might be feeling overwhelmed or distressed by what's recently occurred or what's built up over time. You may be looking to build on your coping skills or enhance your way of thinking about life. Or, maybe you just want someone to talk to about your everyday obstacles. For whatever life brings you, I am here to offer you support and guidance. Some of my clinical areas of focus include, but are not limited to: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related disorders.

As both a licensed professional counselor and marriage and family therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of concerns. My goal is to meet you where you are at, and ensure that your experience in counseling is one that is both safe and comfortable. I want to be able to create a safe space filled with empathy and warmth. Together, in this space we can form a collaborative relationship that will work to access the barriers and patterns that exist as well as identify goals that will foster change and growth.

As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I work with clients with a variety of concerns. Clients who work with me desire to grow and learn individually and interpersonally. I work with concerns from individual to professional to relational issues, including mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and trauma. In addition, my background in special education allows me to address further parent-child and child-education issues, including those with special needs. I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing).
