Welcome. I'm so glad you stopped by. I work with high achieving individuals and families experiencing anxiety & stress, grief & loss, & relationship/family issues. The primary goal of my practice is to create an environment of safety and respect for you to experience connection, heal hurts, develop awareness, and grow personally. I'm a Board Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I also offer Clinical Supervision as the Founder of Atlanta Wellness Collective.

Seeking counseling is a brave decision that could be the first step towards living a happier, more fulfilling life. You may be reluctant to contact a therapist believing you should be able to solve life's problems without help. That is not necessary!! All of us, with complicated and stressful lives can have struggles. Therapy can help you learn the skills you have not had a chance to develop. Psychotherapy can help when sadness or anxiey is interfering with your happiness and can help identify the obstacles that interfere with you reaching your goals. Additionally, your marriage and family relationships can improve greatly with therapy by helping you develop better communication skills and understand the underlying issues.

I've been a licensed psychologist for over 28 years. I assist children and teenagers, adults, couples and families. Prior to private practice, I obtained extensive inpatient experience in a psychiatric prison, an inpatient adolescent facility and the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center .

As an experienced therapist, I have dealt with a broad range of mental health issues. I work with a network of physicians, mental health providers, and spiritual advisors to provide the best care for my clients. I aim to guide clients in asking the right questions and finding answers that lead to positive and progressive outcomes in the therapeutic process. While my primary focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I employ other techniques as needed to help my clients achieve the change they desire.

My perspective is that life is complicated and it's easy to get lost along the way as we face our own struggles like fear, insecurity, shame and worry. If we keep those struggles in the dark, they'll only take root and trip us up and make us start to forget truth. It's only by bringing those dark places into the light that those roots can vanish and we can see truth and grow in ways we could never imagine. It's my joy to partner with others through that process and remove the stigma in seeking help.

As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to help individuals, couples, and families identify areas where change is needed to enhance growth, harmony, and balance in their lives. I take a holistic approach to therapy by incorporating a variety of therapeutic modalities into my practice including CBT, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Imago Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness Based Therapy (i.e., meditation, guided imagery, deep breathing), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Hypnotherapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Animal Assisted Therapy.

We help those who are on the path of holistic healing, integrating "whole"-istic health, depth psychology and a compassion based approach to our work. There are many factors that affect emotional and physical well-being, including our culture, society and family in which we were born into. Many of our deep seeded beliefs and patterns are often rooted in ideologies and relationships that are important to us.

Difficult life experiences, past relationships, and family patterns have a way of damaging how we view ourselves and interact with the world. Our past can lead to struggles with setting boundaries, self-criticism, avoidance, perfectionism, people pleasing tendencies and other unhealthy coping mechanisms. These challenging experiences may also lead to depression, anxiety, or difficulties regulating your emotions. Malakeia Scott -Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 8 + years of experience in social work. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Masters degree in Social Work. Her career began with counseling adolescents and teens with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She has worked as a hospice social worker providing clients and their families with emotional support, resources and navigating end-of-life care. She has also served as a Therapeutic Support Specialist with the Division of Children and Family State Office Unit, serving youth in the child welfare system, and clients adjusting to life on dialysis.

It takes tremendous courage to acknowledge emotional and behavioral difficulties in yourself or a loved one. I provide a nurturing context that will help you to recognize strengths and resilience as well as obtain relief from your current stress, worries, past trauma, couples conflict, family-related issues or parenting problems. I am a seasoned clinician with experience working in community mental health, private practice, medical and educational settings.
