I founded New Sun Mental Health Center, Inc., in 2008. I am bilingual, English-Spanish. I am a registered Clinical Evaluator and Treatment Provider by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). I hold a Master of Arts in Community Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy program from Argosy University in Atlanta. I received a B.A. in Psychology from Pontificia Bolivariana University in Colombia. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a License Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia. I also have a Master Certified Addiction Counselor (MAC) and a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II).

Children, teens and families are our passion and describe our ideal clientele. Your parenting instincts tell you something has changed with your child. For more than 28 years, I’ve helped individuals and couples develop new perspectives about their lives so that they feel empowered to make positive changes. I guide clients to recognize and acknowledge disruptive patterns of behavior, reactions, thoughts, or emotions.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, I have a deep love for and understanding of Latin culture. After working in the corporate world as an accountant, I realized that my true passion was working with families. I became an Immersion Spanish teacher and subsequently the director of an Immersion Spanish preschool. I discovered how fulfilled I felt after working with parents and helping them with all of the beautiful challenges of parenting. I then pursued a degree in and graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Amanda offers a unique person-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapy which guides individuals to their own path to happiness. Her philosophy emphasizes the importance of individual trauma, and how it plays out in the client’s world today.
