I especially enjoy working with couples. I think one of my strengths is balancing my comments and attention so that both members of a couple feel they have been heard and validated. I fully believe that the highest indicator of the usefulness of therapy is the therapeutic relationship I am able to develop with my clients. I am LGBTQ friendly in a town where many people are tremendously judgmental and closed. Providing a safe place for my clients to be themselves is a priority.
I believe thoughts dictate feelings, and irrational thoughts take a lot of people to very bad places. Cognitive behavioral therapy works beautifully to help clients think differently and attain a more peaceful outcome and improved perception of the world around them.
