Waitlist for new clients
I approach each client and family as unique.
I enjoy working with people of all ages. The broad range of developmental challenges invites me to creatively collaborate to address whatever may be impeding the ability to fully engage in and enjoy life. Whether it is a difficult transition, a temporary stressor, a "sensitive" temperament, a current or historic trauma or whatever internal or external disruption, finding ways to optimize how one approaches and copes is my primary focus.

What keeps you from experiencing joy and love fully and living your life with ease and contentment? As a Marriage and Family Therapist for 12 years providing individual, couples and family therapy I have worked with many people with a variety of needs, and I am ready to take the next steps with you.
Emotional well-being much like physical health is a journey. It is a process that takes both time and effort. What you gain from your effort is entirely up to you, but it helps to have the right support! I believe you are the director of your life’s purpose and your potential for health and wholeness can be limitless! I believe our hurts, our traumas, our personal judgments of ourselves, and the judgments we internalize from others are things that disconnect us from our inner self, and our ability to heal, realize our potential and shine our light fully can be challenging. What holds you back or disconnects you from your inner self?

I have 32 years experience as both a Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist in helping individuals, couples and families find more effective solutions in both short-term and longstanding difficulties.
I can best help you when you have felt challenged by life, relationships and stressors that many people face in their life. Have you found that despite various efforts to find solutions you're left dissatisfied? This happens because to achieve significant and lasting changes one must access the self-esteem that resides deep within us. Traditional methods of change fail to impact at this level. My longstanding experience and success using EMDR enables us to significantly improve your self-esteem while making life's challenges more manageable and resolutions achievable.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist we will look at issues through the framework of the world you live in, those people who are currently in your life or those who may have impacted you in the past in order to reach goals, break unwanted patterns and set healthy boundaries in your life.
Hello! Welcome to HealThy Soul Clinical Services.@ Hstavislmft@Gmail.Com. A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. People often seek therapy because they have become stuck. They can feel lost or trapped within their relationships, hurt from past traumas or even confused by repetitive unhealthy patterns in their lives. A parent may need help understanding their children and the struggles they may be experiencing.

Are you always on the go, working and taking care of everyone? Do you feel overwhelmed and wish you could take more time for yourself? But the guilt you feel when you try to say no to people is too much, so you keep saying yes. You’re constantly busy and feel burned out. Do you feel disconnected from your friends, family, and partner? Like you’re running on empty because you support others but you’re missing the support you need. And now you feel on-edge, irritable, like you can settle yourself. Or you have no motivation, feel drained and checked out. I know how you feel because I’ve been there.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
