When working with clients, I draw from Trauma-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Family Systems, and Strength Based therapeutic approaches.

My hope is that all of my clients can find a safe place to find empowerment to work on issues and decrease symptoms. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Family Systems. My goal is to encourage, support and guide you as we work on your goals for a better life. I have over 24 years of experience in providing therapy to adults, couples, teens and children.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, incarceration, dissociation, trauma and abuse, PTSD, career challenges, and eating issues. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQIA+ clients with specialized training for supporting transgender clients as well as cult recovery/religious deconstruction. My therapy style is warm, interactive and person centered. I believe everyone has the ability to find healing and you are the expert on you! My role is to support you. It takes courage to reach out and ask for support. That courage will serve you well as you work towards feeling better.

We all need to feel seen and heard, especially in difficult times. Accompanying my clients in their journey in the midst of life's challenges is an honor. I work from a strength-based position, incorporating family systems orientations to help obtain and use the tools necessary to cultivate change and growth. As a marriage and family therapist I love to see families and individuals thrive and live healthy lives. I am passionate about mental health with an integrative perspective that includes mindfulness and spirituality.

We are living in the most stressful time in history. Children and Adolescents are trying to navigate the world around them, which can cause big feelings and many questions. I am passionate about helping youth navigate their thoughts and feelings in a healthy manner. I have an extensive history working with youth age 4 through early adulthood. I provide a nurturing space for children and teens to explore the areas of aggression, defiance, grief and loss, experiences in foster care and adoption, anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues. I also help parents acquire and gain the skills that is best for their child.

During a first session, clients often comment how easy it is to talk to me. My priority is for you to get something out of our time together that impacts your daily life. This includes, but is not limited to: increased sense of security and self esteem; a more clear vision about your life (past, present, future); decreased symptoms related to anxiety/depression and past trauma; and an awareness of and influence over destructive patterns in your life. I feel fortunate to have the experiences that I have had in working with a diverse group of individuals with various stories. I am able to build rapport quickly, making the client feel comfortable, and can assist in guiding the client in meeting their goals. I bring a unique experience as I look at the whole person to explore what all is, or has impacted them. We don't focus on disease management but strive to focus on overall wellness-mind, body, and soul. Suffering is hard. When you go through depression, sadness, anxiety, anger, confusion, relationships, and other challenges, it starts to affect our days, weeks, months, and years. I understand the importance of how this pain can affect day to day life, and often we may start to have a hard time enjoying even the good parts of our life. Having navigated my own path of healing from childhood abuse, I understand the profound complexities of overcoming deep wounds and embracing self-love. My mission is to provide a sanctuary where individuals can embark on their healing journey, unveiling buried pains to foster self-compassion and prosperity. My professional background extends beyond therapy, having spent a decade as a lawyer specializing in criminal law. This experience, among others, fueled my passion for guiding children away from negative cycles toward empowerment and positive change.

I believe individuals have greatness within themselves; it is important to work with a counselor who sees yours, even if you or others do not. I will strive to help you feel comfortable so you can be honest with me and yourself, about your problems, mood complaints or substance use. Often individuals already know what needs to happen, but do not know how to get there. I will meet you where you are, while guiding you to where you want to be.

I have always viewed my work as a therapist as an honor and privilege to walk alongside individuals, couples and families to address some of their most sensitive and intimate struggles they've experienced in life. I work with clients ranging in age from high school into late adulthood. I have extensive experience working with marital and relationship problems, infidelity, divorce issues, those who might struggle with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, family of origin issues and trauma of abuse. I also have a special heart for those who have endured medical illness. Working as a therapist is my passion.

There are times in our lives when we need help. Life experiences require us to make the decision to seek guidance from outside our immediate family and friends. Counseling can provide much needed support and intervention in times of crises or with chronic issues that last a lifetime.
