In cases where children and adolescents have been affected by abuse, trauma, and sexually reactive behaviors, I am able to meet them where they are, and support their healthy development. I integrate my practical experience as a former NASA mechanical engineer with my psychological training as a therapist to see individuals, couples and families. My approach is strength-based, cognitive-behavioral and trauma-informed. I also have extensive experience in addiction, military family issues, and I especially enjoy working with adolescents.

In my approach, I work in partnership with teenagers and adolescents to help them reach the goals they have set for themselves. Often, this work includes healing from past negative experiences and traumas, support during developmental milestones and issues connected “stage of life” challenges. I have deep confidence in a person’s inherent knowledge of self, resilience and ability to heal and grow in order to be their whole self. I have experience working in the field of social work for over ten years, supporting individuals and communities in a variety of environments including the juvenile justice system, education and advocacy work, residential treatment, community-based work and non-profits. In my work I have developed a client-centered, strengths-based and trauma informed practice modality.

There is tangible and real-life hope. Ingrid has worked with people for over fifteen years in the role of educator, mentor, and professional counselor. She has spent much time also working with crisis and trauma victims, those working through times of deep grieving and loss, individuals sorting through and understanding their identity, self- worth, and those managing every day with anxiety and depression.

Dr. Ellyn Singer has been working in mental health for nearly 29 years. Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Singer has treated adults/adolescents, couples and families experiencing depression, suicidality, anxiety, personality disorders and addictive behaviors. She currently works in an intensive psychiatric facility as an individual/ family therapist. Dr. Singer also trains/supervises associates in Maternal Mental Health, Family/Child Therapy.
