Dr. Blake Webster holds a PhD in clinical psychology with specialization in depression, anxiety, personality assessment, and family systems therapy. Dr. Webster has a background teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology. Prior to his work in private practice, Dr. Webster worked in both hospital and community settings. He also has a background as a family business executive coach and upon completion of his PhD, received specialized training with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at the VA in Hampton, VA.

I am privileged to work with clients of all ages across a broad variety of needs. My practice is largely focused on trauma, though I also see with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, interpersonal issues, relationship issues, and stress.

As a therapist I am in a role which allows me to be able to assist people with removing the barriers to them achieving success in life, relationships, and careers. I have a very accepting and process-oriented approach that is not intimidating or judgmental. My calm, empathic and intuitive nature allows others to feel comfortable and safe to explore what they need to free themselves to experience more happiness and compassion for themselves and others.

I believe counseling is a partnership in which we work together in developing and implementing a plan to reach the clients treatment goals. Each client is unique and different, and I adjust according to the clients needs. I work well with clients who are ready to do the work to heal and grow. The client and I are active throughout the counseling process. I have found that this process is a journey towards healing and thriving in all areas of life.

Since 2012 I have been working with adolescents and young adults navigating various different struggles of their life. Together, with their families (when appropriate) we work to develop a plan and a path towards health and healing. It isn't always easy, in fact it’s often counterintuitive and confusing. Healing isn't linear, but what I can offer is a chance to communicate better, connect, and return your home to a peaceful place. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT®) specializing in sex/porn addictions, partners of sex addicts, multiple addictions, trauma, abuse, and PTSD. I trained under Patrick Carnes at the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). Under Dan Allender I earned an advanced counseling certificate in trauma-focused narrative therapy. Addiction, abuse and trauma are viewed as symptoms rather than defining characteristics. I seek an approach to recovery that embraces positive, proactive, sustainable change.

With over 10 years of being in practice, I believe it is my role to provide a safe and compassionate space for each person that chooses to share their experience with me. My job is to help each person I see to explore past hurts, to put voice to feelings, and to help each person make meaning out of their life. It is my belief that many of us walk this world not fully allowing ourselves to come into our own, due to a fear of not being accepted and due to limiting beliefs given to us by others. I am here to help you heal your past traumas, the unhealthy attachments you experienced, and to build a future that is full of peace and ease.
