Ellen Singer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has specialized in helping couples and families for 35+ years. She trained with Dr. Richard Schwartz in the evidence-based Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapeutic model. She’s also studied and incorporates tools from highly reputable Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Therapy, and Imago Therapy. She sees all couples and specializes in high conflict, infidelity/affairs, intimacy/sexual relationships, ADHD impact, and coping with parent-related concerns. She also specializes in couples coping with infertiity, connected to adoption, blended families, and LGBTQ families.

In my work I strive to create a safe, understanding, and non-judging space to help people faced with difficult life challenges empower themselves.

Together we will partner to identify what you want to create in this next chapter of your life and then move through a process to identify and transform any old limiting patterns and beliefs that may be in the way. I have found a somatic (working at the head, heart, and body level) and compassionate approach to be most impactful for clients in creating lasting beneficial changes in their lives.

I am currently licensed at the clinical level (LCSW-C) to practice social work in Maryland. I utilize a direct, yet warm and affirming approach in therapy. Each client is unique and I work hard to assist clients in achieving his or her treatment goals through Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution- Focused Therapy. Much of my work focuses on Mindfulness and supportive therapies.

Dr. Lanham treats children, adolescents and adults across the Lifespan. He served for 13 years as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he taught Neuropsychological Evaluation to neuropsychology fellows and medical residents. Prior to that, he served 7 years as the Clinical and Research Neuropsychologist at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center site for the Defense & Veterans Head Injury Program (DVHIP). Dr. Lanham utilizes an eclectic approach towards treatment, tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs of his patients and their families.

I work with individuals, families, adults, teens, and children to navigate issues surrounding anxiety, school, work, depression, self-esteem, trauma, family conflict, divorce, parenting, and co-parenting. My multidimensional approach combines aspects of several interventions, modalities, and frameworks including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness work. I identify as Latina (Puerto Rican), as well as Jewish.
