I employ a client-centered and trauma-informed approach to therapy, gravitating towards family systems, attachment-based, and cognitive-behavioral interventions.
I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) marriage and family therapist who is passionate about empowering couples and individuals to improve their relationships, strengthen their boundaries, embrace vulnerability, and most importantly - address and heal from trauma. I believe in the importance of helping clients identify and understand the root cause of their issues to facilitate long-term healing.

We all have experience working with complex family systems, provide guidance when needed to navigate problems, and hold a grounded space for you to process difficulties.
This a group practice that employs clinicans of various ethnicities and backgrounds. People come to therapy due to feeling excessive stress at work, at home, or in their relationships. They find the pressures of everyday life have exceeded their abilities, overwhelmed their senses, and left them with an inability to cope. They are often having problems with school, completing tasks, getting along with others at work, and finding activities enjoyable. We believe in the resiliency of the human spirit, and that therapy is a process of exploring and getting to know oneself.

I believe a person’s identity, values and beliefs guide their path of healing. Therapy can be a way of liberating ourselves from limiting ideas, societal messages, oppression and isolation. I see you as the expert in your experience and collaborate with you to develop a space to learn and grow. My therapeutic approach is both systemic and person-centered with a focus on inherent strengths and resilience. I pull from relational, attachment, family systems, racial trauma and polyvagal theories while using such modalities as ACT, DBT, CBT, TCI-F and Motivational Interviewing. I also draws, when appropriate, from my own experience.

I welcome individuals, couples, or family systems.
Are you an individual wanting another perspective as you sort through life? A new couple or family? Been together for what seems like forever? Issues with your grown siblings? Whether just starting out and working through the complexities of a new job, relationship or family, or understanding that living with the same person day in and day out, year after year, can be difficult (right?!), sometimes it is helpful to bring in an outside person to help work through the "everyday-ness" of life.

I have spent the last 13 years becoming formally trained in therapeutic models that are both restorative and result producing (Internal Family Systems, Somatic Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Art Therapy).
When we are able to truly understand ourselves and our relationships, we can build a life of genuine meaning and connection. Many people enter into therapy only to find themselves gaining small amounts of insight that produce little or no changes in their life. My therapeutic methods produce results that not only change the way we feel about ourselves in the world but change our behaviors. I am respectful of the fact that everyone's pace and tolerance to different interventions varies. My work is reflective of the care and respect I have for each and every client as individuals.

I am a strengths-based clinician and I encourage all of my clients to work on their understanding of themselves while we work together to develop their goals during the therapeutic process. I use my training in family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic models to provide you with greater understanding and to recommend changes in behavior.
My psychotherapy with adult individuals is active and collaborative. We begin with discussing what precipitated your visit and attempt to understand why you are where you are from a perspective that is developmental and non-pathologizing. I am skilled at weighing the relative contributions of what is within an individual and what is between individuals and within troubled relationships.

I use cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems to help change patterns and learned behaviors.
Life can be very challenging. If you are reading this you might be ready to talk. And talking helps. But, it isn't everything. Therapy is a puzzle that we never complete. Therapists sort through thoughts and ideas with you so things don't seem so overwhelming. Here we create a space to breath. I have been honored to work with clients who experience many issues such as anxiety, depression, poor familial relationships, loss, death, grief, divorce, commitment difficulties, loneliness, PTSD, difficulty sleeping, concentrating, focusing, ADD, eating disorders, codependency, isolation. And more.

I use a strengths-based approach to enhance skills you already use, mixed with evidence-based therapies like EMDR, IFS, DBT, ACT, CBT, family systems, and a feminist/queer/decolonized/anti-oppressive lens.
Sometimes our challenges overwhelm our typical ways of dealing with difficulties. Therapy can help to enhance competence, peace, strength, healing, and acceptance. My style is creative, collaborative, directive. I help you to access hope and visualize healing, empowering you to confront the biggest, baddest wolves in your life, when you're ready. I specialize in treating problems rooted in intense experiences. Sometimes what we learn to do to survive ends up creating problems for us later on. We'll work together to uncover what is holding you back and develop skills you need to live a rich, full life.

Family Systems Therapists
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
