I have worked with trauma-informed therapists that utilize techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing and Internal Family Systems.
Are you experiencing overwhelming emotions, anxious thoughts, or feelings of hopelessness? Do you want to live a more fulfilling life but don't know where to start? Are you looking for someone to accompany you on your journey of healing and restoration? I am here to help. I believe that we are all searching for meaning and purpose in our lives. One of the ways we can find this is by connecting with others. In life, it can be easy to get stuck in the darkness. To rely on oneself, and oneself alone. I want to help bring your life into the light. To help you find fullness and meaning by exploring what makes you, you!

I use a variety of models to accomplish this including Gottman, Structural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Sensorimotor and psychodrama/psychodynamic therapies.
Relationships never start off difficult. Disappointment, pain, betrayal, distance, emotional shut-off are all among the myriad reasons they become difficult. Often times the distance between two people can feel insurmountable. A trained and effective therapist is able to bridge that gap and provide guidance and support on the journey back to relational health. Research shows most people wait 6 years to seek therapy. By this time, the sparks of discontent have become a fiery inferno and the help of a professional is invaluable in the process of healing and reconciliation.

I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you build awareness of the different parts of your personality that create frustration or disconnection as well as EMDR to help heal from the pain of trauma and post-traumatic stress.
We all have things that we keep in the dark, believing if this ever came to light it would destroy me. But it's never those things that destroy us, it's always the darkness. Shame, self doubt, and trauma all live in the darkness. We push down our feelings and numb out for fear that the vulnerability of feeling the emotions will become overwhelming and we won't be able to cope. But the numbness is isolating and never gets us towards the rich and valuable life that seems out of reach. Hi, my name is Troy and I specialize in helping men connect to themselves and improve the relationships around them.

I use culturally sensitive strategies and appropriate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family systems to address various issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, parenting, and domestic violence.
Often, we rely on our natural supports for guidance however soon we realize, it is not helpful, perhaps because they say what they think we want to hear, and that’s not beneficial. I believe that for change to occur we must gain insight and self-awareness into the problem and that the therapeutic relationship between a client and therapist is essential. Despite the adversity you have encountered you deserve to live your best life and experience the best version of you. My role is to implement the most appropriate strategies and interventions and use my 17 years of experience in community mental health to support and guide you.

Techniques that I am well versed in is: CBT, SFBT, MI, EMDR, and Family systems approach.
Being able to seek out help is difficult and there are so many thoughts of “will this help?” which is completely valid. It is scary but seeking help can also be empowering and a sign of strength. I strongly believe in building from your strengths and resilient qualities. My priority is providing a safe space to feel heard, understood, and validated without judgment. The focus of our sessions will entail compassion, empathy, and reflection.

My focused areas of training have been family systems, trauma, childhood/developmental trauma, addiction, codependency, mindfulness/body regulation, & anxiety.
First, I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I focus on creating an emotionally safe place. Safe enough to be vulnerable and lean into discomfort. Safe enough to create change that may be desired or needed. My style is direct, compassionate, and caring. When appropriate, I use humor, transparency, and my own quirky personality to help create a safe environment and vulnerability. It is the balance of being client-centered (meeting clients where they’re at) and encouraging change (which sometimes includes calling out BS or respectfully challenging when needed). Im currently offering in-person and telehealth.

Together, my clients and I push into those pain points from their life, using EMDR, psychodynamic, internal family systems, and attachment-focused approaches, in order to bring deep healing.
I am an EMDR therapist who specializes in finding the root causes for one's symptoms. Using an integrative approach of today's best counseling practices and interventions, my goal is to help find and heal the root of one's issues, and not just treat the symptoms. Being trauma-informed means that I am going to pay particular attention to adverse experiences throughout one's life, both big 'T' traumas and cumulative small 't' traumas, and how those experiences have caused someone to construct a faulty narrative about their worth and identity.

Family Systems Therapists
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
