Hello! My name is Melanie, but everyone calls me Mia. I know how disorienting life can feel in the aftermath of betrayal, loss and trauma. I also know that therapy can be a powerful tool to help people recover their sense of purpose and safety. As a therapist, I draw from a variety of approaches to help clients learn to treat themselves with compassion, grieve their losses, and move ahead with a restored sense of direction. You can expect me to show up as a sensitive, challenging and collaborative partner on this journey.

My client is likely in crisis, is in severe emotional pain or is facing a dilemma. This person is needing guidance, emotional support and a safe place to explore their struggles. My client wants to learn more about himself or herself and seeks to travel along their own journey and, along the way, discover his/her own strengths and inner resources. People learn more by discovering something themselves (internally) than by someone telling him what he or she should do (externally).

I really enjoy working with adults facing anxiety, depression and life transitions; as well as couples aiming to strengthen or repair their relationships.

As a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with years of training in various settings and theoretical approaches, I help individuals overcome the stories they tell themselves that hold them back from reaching their goals. Whether it's the fear of being judged or the fear of change, these fallacies can limit our ability to take action in our lives. It's okay to feel scared or unsure about taking the first step towards self-exploration, but it's important to remember that change is possible. I offer actionable steps to create positive and proactive improvements in your life.

My strengths are helping clients manage stress, anxiety and depression, process issues related to sexual/gender orientation, and recover from grief and loss. My style is informed by Psychodynamic Theory, Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Jungian Psychology. In addition, I have recently completed Somatic Experiencing beginning level training.

Life is short. My goal is to help people find purpose and to overcome some of life's bumps. I work with people of all ages in individual, group, family and with couples who are experiencing feelings/emotions that are getting in the way of living a happy, fulfilled life. Lets face it, sometimes we just need someone to listen and help us learn skills that will get us back on track and feeling better. Hi, my name is Hollye Chaumont-Scheulen and I am a licensed professional counselor who is EMDR trained in the state of Missouri. I received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary and a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Texas State University. My life experience gives me a unique perspective that allows me to relate to clients from all walks of life. When you are going through something difficult, it can often feel like you are all alone. My role is to assist the client to anchor the KEY piece(s) and help to develop their own coping skills . I have been helping people all of my life as a teacher, school counselor, and licensed professional counselor and hypnotherapist . Working with individuals, couples and families are areas in which I excel. Many practicing counselors do not blend traditional counseling practices with hypnotherapy. Using both approaches allows the client's mind to be "totally engaged."
