Lucy Bailey provides psychotherapy in the state of Kentucky as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her passion and fascination have always been for people and their story. She received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, in the city of New York. Lucy has also served as an adjunct professor for the school of social work at the University of Kentucky, teaching masters level students social welfare policy and analysis, and the importance of advocacy in various social settings.

My goal as your therapist, is to help you become the best version of yourself that you can be. We will work together to get through whatever it is that you may be dealing with - anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or anything else that could be disrupting your quality of life. My approach is person-centered and non-judgmental. I specialize in working with substance use disorders but also have experience working with many other mental health disorders.

It's tough to be a kid or teen right now and it's tough to parent a kid or teen. The more motivated a young person and their family are to improve, the more successful we are in therapy. It will go best when everyone is (1) honest enough to really get to know themselves, (2) empathetic enough to care about the effects their choices and actions have on others, and (3) brave enough to do things differently so they can feel better, have healthier relationships, and enjoy more successes.

Family Village Counseling Center is a telehealth only mental health agency. We have multiple therapists with many years experience, offering services children, teens, families, adults and couples. Our therapists offer laid-back, flexible services, to allow you to feel more comfortable in connecting with a therapist that meets your therapeutic needs. We accept Medicaid and are in network with most major commercial insurance plans. We do offer private pay options for individuals and can explore payment plans or a sliding scale fee if needed.

While I specialize in working with people struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns, I also work with people seeking treatment for non-eating related issues such as depression, anxiety, and more. I am a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor who has been practicing in Kentucky for over 23 years. I've practiced in a variety of different treatment settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential levels of care. In these settings, I have had extensive experience treating individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, co-dependency, relationship and family issues. I am trained to work with adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, career and vocational issues, substance abuse, family/marital concerns, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement, anger, and other mood disorders. I utilize various treatment modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy. I work specifically with couples who have discovered infidelity. Couples are traumatized when infidelity is discovered and the clinician needs to help the couple implement immediate steps to prevent further damage to the relationship. Counselor strategies for infidelity are much different than what a traditional counselor would utilize. When couples set up an appointment with me, they will get in quickly, and experience a specific treatment approach for infidelity. I also help couples with creating intimate communication, conflict skills, creating emotional and sexual intimacy, and increasing love and affection.

In my 20-plus years in mental health, I have worked with individuals from ALL walks of life including prominent professionals, fellow clinicians, and a vast variety of others. This broad spectrum has taught me many valuable lessons, but one holds true; everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. In my experience, it is the client who recognizes a problem and is determined to correct it, who does the best in therapy. My primary goal is to meet you human to human in the most objective space possible. I can assure you a safe, confidential space with a compassionate ear.

I have worked with clients in recovery from addiction and sexual trauma. I am currently seeing clients 16 years old and older including families and couples. I've worked with those struggling with grief, relationship issues, addiction, anxiety, depression, and issues related to identity.

Our counselors provide couples counseling for intimacy concerns, infidelity, high conflict, and communication problems. We provide couples retreats, couples counseling with co-therapists, and traditional couples therapy in-office and virtually.
