We are a dynamic team of therapists who treat all types of beings and ages who are experiencing challenges stemming from trauma and stress, anxiety and depressive disorders, grief and loss, substance use issues and others. We utilize a range of therapeutic techniques to ensure we are meeting you exactly where you are. I treat individuals, couples, and families. I provide treatment that includes helping you develop tools that will aid you in solving or managing your problems. I can help you deal with past hurts and manage current issues. I operate from a collaborative, strengths-based approach. I strive to treat each person with dignity and respect. While I am not a certified substance abuse provider, I have experience in treating substance abuse issues.

I am able to listen to the challenges going on in your life, focus on an area to develop goals and work towards positive change. I will help you explore how your thoughts are connected to your feelings, and how those thoughts and feelings influence the way we interact in our world. Together we will learn how to find ways to cope and find growth.

I have experience serving individuals with a plethora of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, codependency, ADHD, PTSD, behavioral issues, trauma history, and substance abuse. I utilize a person-centered and strengths-based approach in each client encounter to promote self-determination and overall wellbeing. My experience and education enable me to address an individual’s situation from a holistic approach, allowing me to explore all areas that may be impacting one’s mental health.

Over my time as a counselor over the last nearly 2 years and board-certified music therapist over the last 7 years, I have had the pleasure of working with lots of people with a variety of issues, ranging from addiction to developmental concerns, from grief to gifted students, and all while trying to assist clients in regulating anxiety, emotions, and increasing coping. I have experience conceptualizing client issues with developmental, behavioral, existential, and cognitive lenses; in short, this means, I can help clients by working to see the bigger picture.

Jamie Kyzer LCSW is a licensed therapist in Kentucky specializing in mood management and behavior modification counseling as well as helping those with trauma.

My name is Kristina. I have a Master’s Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling and Licensed LPCC. I am honored to support others in their healing journey and would love to support you as well. I am passionate about empowering others as well as leading with genuine care and concern. My approach to therapy is to meet the individual where they are. I support the client by empowering them in every stage of counseling utilizing a variety of modalities. Beginning the process with building rapport with the client and building off the strengths that the client has.

I specialize in counseling people experiencing anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms and enjoy working with those in the LGBTQ community. I am from a small town in southeastern KY and obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from EKU. I spent my internship at The Ridge Behavioral Health and have 2.5 years of experience in the foster care system. I am trained in EMDR and use it to assist clients in diffusing their most distressing memories into non-distressing memories.
