Most any therapist will tell you that they prefer seeing clients who are motivated to change. Clients presenting as "depressed" often express little or no hope. Clients with anxiety have difficulty seeing stressful situations as manageable. Couples often present with one or both doubting that the marriage can survive. I believe all clients have incredible inherent God-given resources to effect positive change. Likewise, I believe marriages are salvageable, if couples are willing to work, to be vulnerable, to accept, and to understand that the greatest expression of love is to fully know and to be known.

I recognize that making the decision to contact a therapist is difficult for some therefore, my goal is to make the process as comfortable as possible. I work in a relaxed, informal manner that is collaborative in nature. I often use humor in my therapy sessions and take every possible measure to ensure that my office is a safe place for clients to freely cry or express anger as they need. Finally, I work from an integrative perspective that draws from a variety of theoretical approaches as I tailor my approach to the needs and preferences of my clients.

Gwendolyn M. Sanders is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 26 years of experience in the mental health and health-related field. She is experienced in working with adults, families, couples, and veterans to address their unique challenges and live more fulfilled lives. Gwendolyn specializes in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, end-of-life care, couples counseling, and major life transitions. She continues to work with veterans in a variety of settings and understands their specific issues that impact their need for care. Gwendolyn completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Southern University at New Orleans.

My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and skills to improve your sex life as well as to provide a calm, comfortable space to explore underlying issues. Several studies have connected a healthy, fulfilling sex to longevity, improved mental health, and higher relationship satisfaction. Also, I connect with doctors and physical therapists to provide all inclusive care.

Life can be filled with heartbreak(s), disappointments and frustrations that lead one to feel hopeless and filled with despair.
