I am a psychotherapist, author, and public speaker specializing in psychospiritual development, with particular expertise in psychedelic psychotherapy. My book, Psychedelic Healing: The Promise of Entheogens for Psychotherapy and Spiritual Development, describes the influence of psychedelics on the development of my personality theory and clinical practice. Trained in humanistic, transpersonal, and eastern traditions, I maintain a (non-psychedelic) psychotherapy practice in Brooklyn, New York.
What differentiates me from most psychotherapists is that I view "neurosis" as the whole organism's natural response to developmental stress on the path to maturation, rather than as pathology. We label people "neurotic," when it's not a medical illness they are suffering from, but spiritual immaturity.
Neurosis is the natural unfolding of human maturation. I want to return psychology to the study of the unfolding psyche in all it's beauty and complexity.
