I am a mental health therapist, specializing in working with youth and young adults who experience anxiety and mood disorders. I have been working as a mental health therapist in private practice for 8 years. I also have been a school social worker for 24 years, thus have experience in both the clinical and school setting. I believe in working from a strengths perspective, building on the assets my clients possess and learning resiliency skills in addressing the challenges they are faced with.
I believe in developing treatment plans that focus on enhancing the emotional health of my clients through diet, exercise, healthy relationships, positive/mindful thinking and regulation. I also believe in identifying specific traumas my clients have experienced and resiliency factors that positively impact their emotional/mental health.
I believe in collaborating with parents/guardians and school personnel in efforts to teach them skills in being "regulating" and "frontal lobe" partners with their child/student. When necessary and appropriate, I will provide family therapy to address relational problems within a family system.
