I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have had the opportunity to provide Individual and Family Psychotherapy for 16 years. I'm a private practitioner and have worked with several different populations and age groups. I have helped people who have experienced; depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, addiction, anger issues, trauma related issues, cognitive thinking error issues, and grief and loss issues, along with parental guidance. My belief is that building relationships are basic to living mentally healthy lives. My goal is to provide non judgemental professional healing.

I enjoy working with various client populations. It's highly rewarding to be a part of an individual, couple or family's journey towards greater joy and wellness. I have worked with many populations including adolescents, children, homeless, couples, families and individuals. I have lived in the South Pacific including Hawaii and Tonga. I have also lived in California , Arizona, Washington and I currently live in Provo Utah. I have worked with a wide number of different cultures and people of different beliefs. I adhere to a humanistic model of Psychotherapy in that no one person is the same and everyone deserves to be treated with empathy. I focus on each individual's potential and stress of growth and self-actualization.

As a marriage and family therapist, I have successfully helped many individuals (single adults, college students, and adolescents), couples, and families through the difficulties faced with normal family problems, as well as diagnostically challenging issues. I have worked with people who come from all over Utah Valley. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and families. I draw from a strong academic and clinical background combined with personal life experiences to provide life changing interventions. I have a PhD in psychology, two master's degrees and am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have considerable experience with children, adolescents and adults in diverse settings, i.e., mental health centers, U.S. military behavioral health centers, public school systems, wilderness programs, therapeutic boarding schools, and private practice. I gained much of my specialized experience with couples while employed by the US Army in Germany and recently completed the advanced training for certification as an Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist.

In the Disney Movie, The Lion King, Rafiki the wise monkey says, “Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” Being an avid Harry Potter, Disney fan has taught me a lot of things in my life. I have been a therapist for over 10 + years. I specialize in all types of traumas (i.e. family or origins, bullying, chronic health, divorce, adjustment issues, life change, grief, to all types of abuse and harm), depression, addiction, and anxiety. I work with individuals, families, couples, the LGTBQIA+ community, first responders/military, and ages 6-96+.

I was privileged to study at one of the top ten Marriage and Family Therapy programs in the country, so I feel confident in my abilities to meet you where you're at and for our collaborative work to bring positive changes in your life.

One of my goals with therapy is to help others find meaning in their lives. It can be difficult when one feels as if they are not healthy emotionally or mentally. I work to have a good natured approach and strong connection that can help me assist clients in finding positive aspects in themselves and in building resiliency and strength. I have worked with a wide-ranging populace of clients and have expertise in working with trauma. I believe that the key to good therapy is the relationship, and I am a person-centered therapist, yet I work with any different modalities, depending on each individuals needs.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in treating Couples, Women’s Issues and Trauma. I have worked extensively with trauma survivors of all ages and from all walks of life. I have received advanced training in working with couples in the modality of Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I have also received advanced training in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International and am the Co Chair of the PSI Utah Board. This includes training in Exposure Response Prevention to treat OCD.

I believe a huge factor for a healthy and meaningful life is connection: with others, with yourself, and with the values that matter most to you. I strive to create a supportive, compassionate atmosphere where you can foster and develop these connections. I particularly enjoy working with women’s issues, faith transitions, LGBTQIA+ wellness, body image issues, and depression and anxiety.
