Philosophy of Care: I approach the therapeutic relationship as an essential part of the healing process. Life can present us with many challenges. I utilize many of the theoretical orientations that I have learned through my years of being a healing practitioner. As a therapist, I strive to assist my clients in increasing their overall quality of life.

My approach is an affirmative space. I help many navigate the difficult journey of their faith crises and revolutions. This is a very hard time to navigate and the universe is calling us to heal. I don't judge ANY of my clients and I meet them where they are at to work on their goals. I have special trainings and certifications with Brainspotting a brain based trauma approach; working with children through play therapy, couples therapy & LGBTQ+ relationships and issues. I also have extensive experience wading through the struggles of stepfamily and blended family issues. You deserve a supportive space to manage life.

I have come to understand the needs of individuals, couples, and families as they face challenges which can seem overwhelming.  I appreciate the impact of evidenced based psychotherapies in helping the clients I work with achieve the results they are seeking. I also recognize the power of being present and flexible as needs in treatment evolve.

Each client who enters my office desires deeper personal connections, less stress and more hope. I have worked with many populations including adolescents, children, homeless, couples, families and individuals. I have lived in the South Pacific including Hawaii and Tonga. I have also lived in California , Arizona, Washington and I currently live in Provo Utah. I have worked with a wide number of different cultures and people of different beliefs. I adhere to a humanistic model of Psychotherapy in that no one person is the same and everyone deserves to be treated with empathy. I focus on each individual's potential and stress of growth and self-actualization.

I grew up in Mongolia where vulnerability was viewed as a sign of weakness in the community. Due to the culture, I had been trained to suppress my feelings throughout my life. I suffered silently when I had anxiety, depression, and traumas in my family of origin. I know how hard it is when nobody understands you, feeling numb while feeling a lot of emotions, and struggling to forgive while loving loved ones. However, I was lucky to find the right therapist who cared, cried, and helped me deeply. Therapy helped me to empower myself and bring change in my life.

I am accepting new clients and offer Online Counseling via Telehealth. I've provided over 10,000 hours of therapy and like Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." I managed LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.

I work with male and female adult clients. I have an extensive experience in working with clients that are struggling with high crisis, relational difficulties, obsessive thinking, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, attention deficits, trauma, grief, and low self-esteem. I also give significant importance to different cultural backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community. Some of the modalities that I use to help clients are CBT, DBT, ACT, Art techniques, Sandtray technique, and sculpting in family therapy.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate of Organizational Leadership in Healthcare Administration, I specialize in treating adult men facing trauma and substance use. I have 21 years of experience working within the field of mental health and addiction, including working in acute inpatient settings and outpatient. I work with clients suffering from depression, addictions, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, grief and loss, coping skills, stress, anger, and more. I am trained in Crisis Management, addiction recovery, trauma interventions and family systems to help achieve success for each individual’s varying needs.

CBT-cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on changing distorted thinking. Many clients have negative thinking and self-hatred, which has influenced behaviors. EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. DBT-Dialectical Behavioral Therapy teaches mindfulness, a technique to help clients live their lives fuller and more aware. DBT teaches distress tolerance, effective relationship skills, emotion regulation and coping skills for life's challenges. Play therapy uses play to help children deal with emotional and mental health issues.

The client that is the best fit is one who is motivated to make personal life changes, family restructuring change or who may be ordered to complete counseling for court/work obligations. Youth who meet the criteria for NOJOS work (sexual reactive/active) levels 1-4. Three offices to meet your need located along the Wasatch Front. We offer Telehealth to new and existing clients on a HIPPA compliant platform. All new client paperwork and payments can be made directly on the platform.
