I also have considerable experience utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a method that is both quick and effective for relationship/family/parenting problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, chronic pain, guilt, insomnia, medical impairments, work stress, anger/resentment, smoking addiction, and many other difficult issues.

Dr. David Pulley "Dr. Dave" earned his bachelor's in psychology from Howard University in DC and obtained both his Master's and Doctorate from Chestnut Hill College in PA. His Doctorate degree is in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in the subject of Soul Mates. As a result, he is known as an expert on soul mates and a pioneer of some of the clinically based models and theories on the subject. Dr. Pulley has created a team of clinical consultants (Tender Loving Care Clinical Consultations) who provide psychologically based consultative support for their client base.

I have successfully taught children as early as those in Program Head Start, before becoming a Texas Teacher & School Counselor, and ultimately a LPC-Supervisor . As a child advocate who tries to understand the needs of the child in hopes of helping with mental or emotional turmoil. One may say or think that I specialize in treating children? This would be false, because I can't recall a situation where I could help the child without helping the parents, and even the whole family. I was born and raised in Hawaii, and got my doctorate in Chicago. After my doctorate I moved to the great state of Texas 14 years ago. I have worked with people in many different settings including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient and inpatient clinics, residential treatment centers for children, and rehabilitation and long-term care centers. As a licensed psychologist I specialize in individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. I've done Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with children, adults, and older adults. I also incorporate behavioral interventions such as imagery, progressive muscle and relaxation training.

EMDR CERTIFIED. Whether you face stress at home, work, school or your health, I can help you develop strategies to enhance coping. I work with couples to identify interpersonal stressors to enhance communication and restore harmony. I work with teenagers and young adults on issues of independence, self esteem, depression and anxiety. I have extensive experience working with family caregivers facing illness, advance care planning, death/dying and bereavement. I work with women to enhance their ability to cope with stressors across the lifespan, including infertility, post-partum depression and empty nest challenges.

After completing my Bachelor's of Psychology at the University if Monterrey, Mexico, I began specialized training at the Child Analytic Study Program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I also completed a Master's in Education and Psychology. I moved to Houston and while raising my four children I founded Mexican Women's Initiative, a non-profit organization focusing on organizing Latin women to provide services for the Latin community. I then joined two other Latin psychotherapists to create the "Centro para el Desarrollo para la Mujer", an educational forum for Latin women.
