I have been in the field since 2013 with a primary focus of working with teens and young adults who have experienced trauma, life transitions, depression, and many other mental health needs. I received my B.S degree in Psychology at Oklahoma Wesleyan University and my M.S degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lubbock Christian University. I have been trained in AF-EMDR through the Parnell Institute.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina. I believe that every person has the ability to reach to their fullest potential in life with the right support network and guidance. I have a broad range of counseling experience working with young children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. I use EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy and to assist clients who are interested in establishing better communication skills, have a desire to build healthier relationships, and want to learn positive strategies when dealing with life's day to day challenges.

I help people improve their mental wellness and quality of life pertaining to: health stressors, romantic/family relationships, social anxiety, existential identity issues, traumatic experiences, and specialize in treating those with medical conditions like heart disease, cancer, surgeries, terminal illness, autoimmune disorders and many more. Addressing physical conditions along with mental health ones is essential in the work I do: sleep/insomnia, sexual dysfunction, weight gain/loss, pain management, and substance misuse. I enjoy working with all races/ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, and spiritualities.

This is always the hard part, finding a counselor that feels right for you, and the initial discomfort in meeting them for the first time. I will endeavor to make this part as seamless as possible while striving to see the world through your eyes. We often have the idea that if we don't solve our problems alone we have somehow failed. I believe that we can thrive when we are able to discuss our problems with someone we trust. My hope is that I can provide a space where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns. Rene is a LPC in the state of Texas holding a Master's degree in counseling from Saint Edward’s University. With over a decade of experience and knowledge, she treats people who are experiencing anxiety, codependency, career change, depression, disordered eating, divorce, enabling behavior, family of origin issues, grief/loss, life transitions, pre-marital /marriage concerns, relationship stressors, self-esteem, substance use/abuse and women’s issues. She works with teens, adults, and couples.

I work as a partner with my clients to gain or restore a healthy balance individually and within the context of their relationships. I work with the whole person from a humanistic and systems perspective. We do not live in a vacuum, therefore each and every person is connected to others somehow in relationship, whether that relationship is healthy, conflicted or estranged and whether that relationship is with family, friends or colleagues. There is great value in working with an unbiased professional to help identify patterns and ways of relating that are possibly holding us back from living the life we desire.

My approach to therapy is to meet clients where they are at, listen to their concerns, and make specific therapeutic goals to accomplish. I excel at creating safe spaces for people to talk and explore themselves. I am a secular, spiritual therapist. I love to help people find their potential and understand themselves through intentional, actionable steps. If a client says, “I want to love myself,” that is followed by real discussion about how that works and goal setting for how it can be accomplished.

Saheedah is a Licensed Clinical Level Social Worker, Therapist & owner of Beloved Healing. Saheedah has over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, couples & families. Due to the stigma of mental illness in the Black community, Saheedah is passionate about normalizing conversations about mental health and educating populations who have been historically underserved. Saheedah uses a variety of modalities to address issues such as grief and loss, depression, anxiety, anger management, family and workplace conflict, and phase of life transitions.

My primary specialty is romantic conflict. Many persons I counsel are either "stuck" or at an impasse. They just cannot seem to resolve their conflict. They often see their issues worsen despite efforts. I address the root causes, matters that often go unaddressed. These root issues are often why couples continue to fight. These matters are so strong that they can take the best of romances and turn them into near hatred and disgust. My secondary specialty is emotional management, including with children. I primarily address regret, fear, anger, and anxiety, helping you understand and manage emotions that hold you back.

We all wish life’s journey could be an easy one, but the reality is the path is not always smooth. Life can be filled with uncertainty, conflict, and hard choices. No matter what your age, there are times when life can leave you feeling lost. The good news is that this journey does not have to be faced alone.
