I provide therapy in a supportive, authentic and normalizing environment. I work to help others feel empowered as they work toward their goals and recognize how much they are able to shape their own lives when provided with effective tools and insight. I believe that the appropriate use of humor is extremely helpful and I strongly believe that it is not my place to judge you or to impose my values on you during the therapeutic process. I view counseling as a team effort where the counselor and client work together.
I specialize in working with trauma and anxiety with individuals of all ages. I have also worked extensively with behavioral issues in older children/adolescents and their families. I believe very strongly in the power that relationships play in our lives and work to support my clients to recognize ways to create/maintain healthy relationships with others.
My specific therapeutic approach depends on what my clients need from me. I care very much about how safe and supported you feel. My biggest goal, as a counselor, is to empower my clients to believe that they are worthy and fully capable of growth. I want meeting with me to be something you can look forward to, even when the work is hard.
