I work with individuals, couples, and families from a range of experiences, but find that most are dealing with some form of anxiety, depression, or shame-based symptoms. It can be very difficult to address these issues with others in our lives for a number of valid and practical reasons. As a therapist, I offer a safe, private, and nonjudgemental space for people to begin discussing and exploring these often uncomfortable parts of self, with the hope that more understanding will lead to a lessening of symptoms, as well as a clearer path forward.

I have a passion for working with children, adults, and families to help build rapport and unconditional positive regard for all situations or needs they may have. Coming to therapy takes vulnerability and self motivation that I intend to encourage in each individual. This step forward will begin a journey to healing, self love, and acceptance. It is a true privilege that I get to walk beside each client on their path to healing, no matter what that may look like for you.

As a Christian and a professional I endeavor to provide professional counseling within a Christian worldview. As a therapist I try to be a good listener as well as someone who helps to clarify and provide input. I have been trained in a variety of counseling approaches but find that having a caring attitude and listening ear is beneficial to my clients.

I hold an MA in Educational Psychology specializing in Mental Health Counseling, and am licensed as an LPC, MHSP in Tennessee. I am also an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) for those taking a path toward LPC, MHSP. There are many different therapies, just as there are many different types of individual issues. Therefore, I work with many; however, I believe CBT, DBT, person-centered, and compassion-focused therapies are particularly helpful, especially for those struggling with grief, trauma, behavioral, and long-unaddressed issues.

My name is Brandi Hampshire. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Tennessee. I have 10 years experience working with adolescents and teens, alongside their parents. I also have two years experience working with adults in the correctional setting. I have worked with clients with a wide array of issues, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, OCD, post-traumatic stress disorder, parenting issues, anger management, grief/loss, alcohol and drug issues, personality disorders, and life stressors. I am passionate about EMDR therapy and I train in TN, AL, GA, TX, KY and Washington D. C. also use Rapid Resolution Therapy with Clinical Hypnosis for a variety of issues including but not limited to traumatic events, addictions, stopping smoking and decreasing chronic pain. I do relationship counseling, parent education life coaching, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, grief and loss counseling, anger management, personality testing and EMDR.

My approach begins with listening to your concerns and questions. Hearing your desires and goals about how you would like to respond to the adversities of life and then introducing you to concepts and strategies designed to help you respond to life's problems more effectively. My approach may include spiritual resources but I never impose my values and aim to be respectful of yours.

I believe what is most effective in therapy is finding someone who makes you feel truly seen and heard. Finding one's voice is challenging enough, and going unheard or misunderstood can be incredibly lonely and can alter our perceptions of our lives, our futures, and ourselves. I enjoy supporting others in finding their voice and rediscovering who they are through each chapter they encounter in their lives. The therapy journey can be long and on-going but is worth every step of effort to reach the level of healing and confidence we all deserve.

An informed and liberated mind is my goal in mental health treatment. I have 32 years experience in pastoral counseling, statewide crisis intervention, and counseling in a clinical setting. My experience in helping souls to heal comes from having been with people in their homes, schools, hospitals, and detention centers. I have worked with families ranging from the very poor to the wealthy. Emotional pain can come to anyone and I enable my clients to heal old and new hurts that get in the way of a healthy and happy life.
