My style of counseling is straightforward and direct, but I do not tell you what to do, but help you to figure out what action is best for you. I use CBT (talk therapy ) and Person Centered Therapy, as well as hypnotherapy. I have helped hundreds of people struggling with depression, anxiety , addiction and those in the LGBTQ+ community. I have been doing this a long time and understand we all make mistakes. I believe the important thing is to be willing to work for change.

Are you feeling stuck and you aren't sure what your next move is? Maybe you're not sure where to start, or you have experiences from the past that are holding you back and getting in the way of you being your best self. Perhaps you've tried therapy before but really didn't get anything out of it. Or you are struggling in your relationships and keep repeating the same old patterns, and quite frankly, you're over it. Maybe your last therapist listened to you as you shared, but didn't offer much guidance in return. As your therapist, I will meet you where you are, and come along side you to help you identify and reach your goals.

I have experience in family counseling, couples counseling, and individual from ages 6 to 70.
I believe that everyone can use some extra support in life sometimes. Whether that is due to a current life situation in which you might need someone to listen to you and/or provide some extra support and guidance or you are struggling with past experiences. I also understand how difficult it can be to reach out and start the process of counseling and to find someone that you feel you can connect with. My goal is to help you feel supported and heard during these times while helping you navigate through changes, self esteem concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression and whatever else you may need. I hope together we can reach your goals.

I enjoy working with those who have struggled with life situations that have caused them to lose confidence and need encouragement and an affirming voice to help them find peace and joy once again. There is always hope and the promise of a new day, and I look forward to being able to assist them in discovering that promise. I approach counseling from a broad perspective of non-judgmental, solution-focused strategies that respect the humanity of everyone who comes seeking a better tomorrow. Always remember, "You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."- Winnie The Pooh

“In a society that says, ‘Put yourself last,’ self-love and self-acceptance are revolutionary.”-Brene Brown. Perhaps you have been considering therapy for a while, maybe this is a return for new strategies, or life’s constant upheavals have necessitated you to consider our support. Individual counseling and coaching clients can expect our therapists to provide an open and non-judgmental space for honest dialogue, creative problem-solving strategies, and the use of individually tailored and structured treatment plans, of which you are an active collaborator, to meet your goals.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
