I am a traditional and Christian faith-based clinician that utilizes brief solution focus therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered, motivational interviewing, bibliotherapy, positive psychology, mindfulness, and strength-based modalities. I offer online and in-person counseling services for children, adolescents, at-risk youth, adults, and families, experiencing anxiety and stress related disorders, PTSD, DV and IPV trauma, emotional regulation disorders, adjustment disorders, and family/parent-child adjustments.

I have been counseling male and female adults and children for over 8 years. My motto is "our past does not define us; it helps us shape a positive present and future." I am dedicated to helping others become better versions of themselves through therapy. As a black female therapist, I believe that nothing is impossible with positive and consistent help and reinforcement. Dr. Rodriguez (she/her) earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Supervision and Education: Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Akron. She is a Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has 3 supervisory designations, and provides supervision to MFT, PC, and CDC. She is also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She has provided outpatient systemic therapy to couples, families, and individuals for 25 years. She is an affirming and trauma-informed therapist, and is trained in EMDR.

What I love about my work is the ability to empower individuals and families to recognize their strengths and evoke what they already have within them to recognize their intrinsic value and create positive changes for their wellbeing.

Life experiences and exposure can present constant barriers to living whole. These same experiences can be overwhelming, and keep you stuck in exhausting cycles. Although the steps ahead may be challenging and different from what you have experienced thus far, I encourage you to keep moving. My ideal clients are adults with challenges regarding everyday life, trauma, identity, faith and spirituality issues but committed to the process of self-awareness, healing, and growth.

I have served those with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Family Issues, etc. My ideal client is motivated to roll up their sleeves and engage in the therapeutic process. They have an open mind and can practice effective coping skills to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. They can challenge themselves to be vulnerable and practice accountability while processing their problematic thinking patterns and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental environment. They wish to engage in therapy because they realize that they need to make a change and are willing to take a leap of faith to make it happen.
