My clients include adults who want to break cycles of family trauma, those seeking to embrace a neurodivergent identity and use new tools to ensure success, adults in recovery, caregivers, wounded healers, and those with chronic illness adjusting to a new "normal.
I believe that human beings have an incredible capacity to adapt to extremely difficult situations, but sometimes using old coping strategies can encourage toxic situations at home or at work. When the tendency to accommodate others and the desire for approval goes unchecked, we betray our authentic sense of self and undermine our success. This is particularly true with adults suffering from symptoms related to childhood trauma, addiction, and those who have had to "mask" due to neurodivergent experience. Using evidenced based treatment, I work with adults and couples to create their best lives.

I was an instructor of Human Sexual Behavior at UNLV, in the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Is your relationship in crisis? Are you feeling angry, frustrated and resentful towards your partner? Would you like to feel loved, heard, respected and valued? If the love and connection has gone, let me help you bring it back. We'll replace the negative, ineffective patterns of communication that have caused you to be "stuck", and focus on creating healthy and positive new ways of interacting. If your sexual needs are not being met, are dealing with the trauma of extra marital affairs or escalating problematic sexual behavior, I can help you heal, reconnect and move on.

Hello! Are you tired of surviving, and ready to thrive? I specialize in working with clients who have a parent or partner with narcissistic traits. If you've been surviving for years, or decades, it can be hard to believe, but you can heal from narcissistic trauma, and create the life you deserve! Let's talk about how attachment therapy and emotionally focused therapy can help you see yourself positively and love yourself unconditionally. If you don't remember your traumatic memories, or it's hard to find words, that's not a problem. We'll use art therapy, sandtray therapy, parts therapy, or tapping so you can heal from trauma.

I am particularly interested in clients that are open to cultivating the garden of their life. Our life can represent a garden; in any garden there are beautiful flowers and unfortunately there are thorns and thistles. My client must be willing to smell the aroma of the flowers as we travel through the thorns and thistles of the garden life also.

for 4 years; & I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, I’ve worked with Psychoanalyst Kristi Walsh, Ph.
"I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become." ~ Carl Jung. Do you feel overwhelmed, have pain, grief, anxiety, depression, or unseen shadows that prevent you from healing or from choosing better decisions, relationships, and allowing yourself to matter in your own life? My experience and education can help people hungering for more purpose, fulfillment, and nurturing relationships instead of dissonance, exhaustion, and sacrifice, those who know what you were aiming for, but discovered you’re at the top of the wrong ladder. If you feel like you’re different or unseen, then I may be the psychotherapist you’ve sought.

I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, El Paso in Criminal Justice before moving to California and earning my Master's degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. My trauma-informed focus aims to help individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, Women’s health issues, family & relationship trauma, life transitions, and chronic and/or terminal illness.
Are you tired of just tolerating life instead of really living it? Does it feel like no one can understand, and that you've just been through too much? Sometimes life hands us experiences that are painful and overwhelming. Difficult experiences can make us feel overburdened and isolated. Often, what we need is a listening ear, to know that someone cares, and to understand that we are not alone. Are you ready to find the relief and healing you've been missing? You deserve to find your peace and wholeness again, and you don't have to do it alone.

TELE-THERAPY IS NOW AVAILABLE.... Therapy is a collaborative process between clients and the therapist. Treatment will attempt to help your family process those struggles and move through them so you will be able to handle things that arise in the future. Combining compassion and common sense with formal training and experience is the most effective way to help patients deal with challenges they are facing. Therapy should help change come about in the very first session. Of course, problems are not solved immediately, but every meeting should bring new possibilities and hope for change that will last.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
