As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I often work with clients who are suffering from anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. I take a collaborative and relational approach to counseling. I can offer a warm and safe space for exploration and growth. The populations I am best suited to work with are individuals who are motivated toward healthier intrapersonal development, clients interested in creating stronger interpersonal connections, as well as women in destructive relationships.

Hi! I'm Misty! I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families! My typical client is between 3 and 26 years old and I use a variety of approaches to meet the needs of my clients. I am currently working on obtaining my registered play therapy (RPT) credential and utilize play, art, sandtray, and other expressive arts to make therapy fun for kids! I also will incorporate caregivers into the therapeutic process as needed so the healing can continue happening at home. For adolescents and young adults we can talk, or we can use some of the above techniques to help process. I also am experienced in EMDR and DBT modalities.

My ideal client would be a child or teen, but can do adults if needed! Their issues could span a variety of areas. Coping with trauma, self-esteem issues, eating disorders and behavioral disorders are just a few areas of issues I can address. Their needs and goals may vary but adjusting to life situations, learning coping strategies and recognizing themselves as worthwhile people would be my goals.

As a clinical social worker with experience in working with children (ages 10 and older), adolescents, and young adults, my passion lies in helping individuals navigate through their emotional and behavioral challenges, heal from past traumatic experiences, and bring a sense of safety and connection back to their personal and family system. Mary is a seasoned therapist and a mature woman who has always worked in human services. Clients have included children and families in the adoption and foster care system, families having children with disabilities, and caregivers needing respite from the constant demands of children or seniors who are unable to meet their own needs. From relationship problems to depression, anxiety or trauma, Mary offers knowledge, sensitivity and creative options to her clients.

I enjoy coaching clients and professionals through life-stressors, trauma recovery (PTSD), mediating relational issues in couples and family therapy, and helping clients develop healthy coping skills for anxiety, depression, mood and impulse disorders. I help clients set and reach achievable long and short term goals to give them a sense of productivity and accomplishment through solution-focused therapy. If you are in need of specific resources or community services, I walk alongside my clients to identify needs and coordinate services. I welcome clients at all stages of mental health wellness.

Clients that I work with are normally struggling with: ongoing life stressors, emotional regulation, self-esteem, family/relationship dysfunction, trauma, or identity issues (to name a few). Their goals are to work towards healing, empowerment, and self-discovery.
