In my practice, I work with a diverse clientele: children, adolescents and adults from all backgrounds. My approach is practical and conversational as we explore together the stressors of daily living, relationship concerns, parenting issues, and in some instances, severe psychiatric disorders. Often, clients seek short-term interventions, though for some difficulties therapy continues for an extended period. I allow my clients to set the agenda for our work together and decide what sort of help is needed.
Besides the commonplace individual and couples psychotherapy, many clients, especially parents, consult with me about family problems. This may involve concerns about an underachieving or acting-out teen, a young adult child experiencing a "failure to launch", or a divorced person struggling to co-parent with and ex-spouse.
In practice for over 35 years, I was recognized as a "Top Therapist" by the Washingtonian Magazine and the first recipient of the "Private Practice Clinician of the Year" award by the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County.
