It is easy to feel hopeless in the middle of a new fight. It reminds you of a hundred fights that you and your partner have engaged in. Don't despair. There is hope. I see couples who feel stuck due to fighting or disconnection. Within a few sessions, most of my couples feel closer and fight less. Communication issues or infidelity are the two top areas that I work with. My clients have told me that they appreciate my gentle support, knowledge, and guidance. I use a mixture of two research-based approaches: The Gottman approach and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Both have been recognized as effective ways of treating couples.

We, as human beings, have our habitual way to think, feel, and behave which may not always help us cope well. We may feel stuck in the past, fearful for the unknown future, and not being able to be present in the moment. We are not able to change the past and we cannot live in the future because future is delusional and non-existent. The present is the only time that we can do something to make a change and feel better. We do not need to deal with a struggle once we stop fighting against it and begin to practice acceptance and let go of the attachment to our habitual pattern so as to respond with a mindful and non-judgmental mind.

I am an interactive therapist, interested in helping clients reduce symptoms of distress, usually anxiety or depression and explore with them the roots of their distress. I find whether it is addiction, eating disorders, chronic pain, or straight forward relationship issues, understanding the "why" as well as the "how" to fix it, helps the problem and symptoms subside. Clients that work with me finish therapy with a greater awareness of themselves which helps them avoid difficulties in the future as well as a host of healthy coping strategies to help get through the rough times ahead.
