In session I am empathetic and positive, working collaboratively with each client, in overcoming life challenges. Due to the vast amount of experience I have gained in both psychotherapy as well as behavioral modification, my therapeutic approach is diverse and can be non-directive, guiding the client at their own pace, or directive in nature. Cherry Hill Counseling is one of the longest-standing counseling practices in the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master's Degree from Lewis University. My background encompasses many different areas to include the mental health field, educational academic and career performance, corporate business and training, and EAP. I have 11 years in K-12 and higher education counseling and teaching experience as well as over 15 years in corporate business. My passion and vast experience in all of these settings and now within the clinical mental health setting for almost 7 years is how I thrive to assist all individuals in achieving complete satisfaction and success in all aspects of life!

As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

I am a Christian therapist that has been working in the field for over 30 years. I help people learn new ways of thinking and relating and provide tools to overcome depression, anxiety, subtance abuse, sexual addictions, and relational problems.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I use a strengths based approach and have worked with clients of all ages. My specialties include behavioral disorders, substance use, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I have also worked with clients that have experienced trauma ranging from physical and sexual abuse, assault, and experiencing and witnessing violence and negligence. I have 26 years experience in the provision of therapy in an outpatient setting to treat a diverse array of presenting problems. I assist clients in problem solving more productive and healthier ways to cope with their unique challenges. A guiding principal in my work is to aid clients in achieving congruence between the person they wish to be and the person they are, thereby continually striving for authenticity.
