My name is Regina Bridges. Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed listening to and supporting others. My goal is to help people of all ages and backgrounds feel heard and empowered. I find it a privilege to be part of the process of growth for each client I am able to serve. I approach therapy through a holistic and person centered lens focusing on the whole person where they are the expert and author of their own story.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with fifteen years of clinical experience. I completed my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and my Master's degree in Social Work, with an emphasis in Family Systems Theory, at Saint Louis University. I understand that clients are the experts of their own lives and join with clients to determine treatment goals. I work throughout the time we have together focusing on helping those I serve achieve emotional balance.

Kendrick is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling locally at Bradley University. He has over 18 years of clinical experience providing care to clients with a wide range of needs. He serves all ages of clients from pre-adolescent to the life experienced senior citizen. His clinical experience includes outpatient settings, substance abuse clinics, emergency and disaster response teams, at risk adolescent group homes, family services agencies, universities, correctional facilities as well as private practice experience.

I have 12 years of experience working with adolescents with behavioral and emotional difficulties. I have completed the Pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder certification program through the International OCD Foundation. I have extensive experience working with family issues including divorce, legal problems, sexual abuse, and other mental illnesses. I have worked with many adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety and depressive symptoms.

The mission of Starfish Family Counseling is best described through a story. The Starfish Story tells of a child walking along a beach after a terrible storm which washed up thousands of starfish onto the beach. The child is throwing starfish back into the water, when someone admonishes the child that they cannot save them all, cannot really make a difference. The child responds by picking up another starfish and saying "it makes a difference to this one." J. "Andrew" Dewey offers individual, couples, and family therapy to the Springfield area. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois with six years of experience, which includes working within DCFS. Andrew is a veteran of the United States Army and has a passion for helping other veterans achieve overall wellness. Andrew is SMART (Self Management and Recovery Training) certified and is involved in advocacy for drug and alcohol policies. He hosts group therapy at the Springfield office starting March 2, 2023. It will run every Thursday in the evening.

As a EMDR and Trauma Certified therapist, I also incorporate techniques informed by the Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SE) for a bottom up approach. I have been working with families with children, adolescents, and young adults for ninteen years. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families that seek treatment for emotional and behavioral issues including depression, anxiety, anger and stress management, grief and loss, and self-harm and aggressive behaviors. Many times, both adult and young members of a family need therapeutic support when emotional and behavioral issues are present. I also have experience working with clients to increase age appropriate communication and social skills in order to develop and maintain positive relationships. I am able to see clients with or without the members of their families.
