I am passionate about my work and believe in the healing benefits of psychotherapy. I view therapy as a process through which we explore the issues that confront you, place them in a context and develop strategies for change. Engaging in this process not only do we learn new ways of coping or getting "unstuck" but we also develop a more genuine relationship with ourselves, others and the world in general. I am authentic and direct but a considerate therapist who will work with you and assist in empowering you to move forward in meeting your goals with care, compassion and a sense of humor.

I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and specialize in working with individuals throughout the entire lifespan. My modalities include CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Strength Based Counseling and Mindfulness Approach to work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and trauma. I am passionate about connecting with clients on an emotional and empathic level to building strong, lasting relationships with them. I hold a Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from University of Georgia.

Michele Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 20 years in the mental health field (15 of those years as a licensed professional). Michele specializes in the treatment of personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and anger management. Michele has worked extensively with adults and child with a history of defiance.

My practice involves a balance of assessment and therapy services. I specialize in assessment for learning differences and developmental delays. For over 20 years, I have worked with children and families facing the challenges of learning disabilities, attention problems, autism spectrum disorders, seizure and tic disorders, and a variety of developmental disabilities. I work with individuals and families who have additional pressures that are involved when a family member has chronic medical illness or disability concerns. I am passionate about helping clients adjust to the these challenges, with a focus on maintaining healthy relationships and routines for all family members.

I am a holistic and integrative counselor who is passionate about healing from the inside out. I believe when we can turn towards our inner experience, we find there the capacity, courage, and wisdom to deeply heal. Dee is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and also is a nationally Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She is a member of the LPCAGA(Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia) and GABA(Georgia Association of Behavior Analysis). Dee earned her Masters of Science in Applied Clinical Psychology from the University of South Carolina-Aiken. Dee has worked in the mental health field for over 18 years and has experience and training in crisis intervention, stress management, dual diagnoses, behavioral support, family conflict and other issues.

I have over 15 years of experience treating children, couples and families using an integrated approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems theories. My primary interests are in communication, self-expression, self-esteem, anxiety and behavior problems. I served as the Student and Associate Chair of the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists from 2009 -2012. I am the founder of Adaptive Therapy Counseling Group, LLC in Lilburn and Alpharetta, where I have treated individuals and families suffering from eating disorders, anxiety disorders and mood disorders for over 10 years.
