I have excellent experience in working with PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement/Grief Counseling, Occupational Issues, Marriage & Family Therapy, Sexual/Physical Abuse, Mood Disorders, and Spiritual Concerns.
Just like seasons, people change. My ideal client is a person working to accept or embrace change while growing through life's seasons. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, human beings experience them all. If you're in search of healing and wellness for your mind, body and spirit, let's talk. I believe in a holistic approach to behavioral health. I view people as emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual beings; thus, providing psychotherapy treatment that helps one attend to mind, body, and spirit transformation.

Telehealth services only: I work with clients that are motivated for change. I work with adults, teens, and kids. Relationships can be very stressful and overwhelming as today we do not have a village to help us and many people lack supports. My goal is to help you either as an individual or as a family move into a place of healing. Together we can explore unresolved trauma, communication patterns, conflict, emotions, all of it within the safety of a therapeutic relationship.

Are you tired of those intrusive thoughts? Do you continue tell yourself “just don’t think about it” and you still do? Are you having a difficult time doing simple task because traumatic thoughts keep coming back?” Do you continue to have nightmares? your family and friends continue to say, “that was in the past” or “you should just move on” If it were only that simple. Sometimes it gets so bad, where you feel completely disconnected from the world and yourself, like an out of body experience. Many times you may wonder, “Am I the only person who is going through this?”

Choosing a therapist for ourselves or family members is never easy. Are you or a loved one dealing with personal issues like illness, anxiety, depression, social isolation, substance abuse, grief and loss? Having someone you can talk with in a confidential setting can bring relief and understanding to you and your loved ones. Avoiding our, or others, issues prolongs the pain and allows suffering to deepen and the problems to progress.

I work with adults, couples, children, adolescents, and families, to develop a treatment plan uniquely designed for each person. During the initial visit, issues bringing the client to therapy and ways of dealing with them are discussed. Common issues addressed in therapy may include stress, depression, anxiety, relationship and family problems, transition, loss, grief, self-esteem, and unhealthy life choices. I employ many advanced theatment modalities to assist my clients. Therapy is designed to address the core issues, but is also goal-oriented and structured to help clients improve communication and relationship skills, and lead happier, more productive lives.

I am originally from Chicago and I have called Florida home for over 20 years. I believe that everyone is capable of greatness if they can only get the direction and chance that they need. Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
